Chapter 0360
Fall For My Ex's Mafia Dad
âAll right,â Jerome whispers, not pushing me on it. But then he takes his hand away and sighs,
stepping back and studying me.
âWhat?â I ask, confused.
âI just think itâs time for you to loop Daniel in a little more,â he says, giving a shrug. âAfter all, he has
to do all the stuff with the boats.â
I bite my lip, anxious. âYou donât think itâs too soon?â
âTwo weeks, Fay,â Jerome whispers, his expression worried now. âIt might not be soon enough.â
I groan and sit back down in my chair, hard, staring at the paperwork spread out on the table. After
a long moment I nod. âFine,â I say, my hand rubbing passively over my belly. âWeâll tell him tonight.
And then tomorrowâ¦â I look up at Jerome, seeing if he already knows.
âTomorrow we go seeâ¦her.â
âYup,â I say, taking a deep breath. Because now that Iâm getting my team involved? Itâs no longer
just a speculation in my mind.
This is real now. And after tonight, it will have consequences.

âAnything you want me to pass along to Fay, tonight?â Ivan asks as he flips through his notes after a
long interrogation session with Kent. He watches carefully as Kent declines to reply, smirking when
he sees Kentâs shoulders raise in a deep sigh.
âSeriously,â Ivan says, slapping the notebook shut and leaning back in his chair, looking Kent over
from head to toe. âI donât mind. Iâll pass on a message - whatever it is you want to say.â
Slowly, Kent raises his head to meet Ivanâs eyes. He blinks once and just shakes his head at the
kid, knowing that heâs needling him again. Kentâs determined not to let it work, but â as Ivanâs said
before â he knows his weak spot.
Ivanâs mouth spreads into a slow smile. âSheâs getting bigger,â he tells Kent, his voice soft. âNot fat â
justâ¦a cute little belly, like sheâs smuggling a melon under her dress.â
Kentâs heart seizes when he hears it, and he believes him. Not only does Ivan have any reason to
lie butâ¦well, thatâs how he imagined Fay would look. Keeping his gaze, Ivan leans forward to rest
his elbows on his knees.
âSheâs sick all the time now too,â he whispers, âjustâ¦morning sickness, all hours of the day. And
when she runs to the bathroom? Sometimes I go with her. To hold her hair, rub her backâ¦really,
anything that she needs. Thatâs what a good guy does, isnât it? Heâs there for his girl, when sheâs
sick. A good dad, too.â
Kent just closes his eyes and looks away. Because even though he knows exactly what Ivanâs
doingâ¦well, heâs right, isnât he?
That is what a dad should be doing for the mother of his child.
And here he is, rotting away in jail.
And there Ivan is, more than happy to take his spot.
âWhy donât you let her husband do those things,â Kent murmurs, not knowing why the hell Daniel
keeps letting Ivan into the house. Unless Fay has a reason for itâ¦
â¦or Fay isâ¦considering him. Considering Ivan as a real replacement.
But the bare thought of that threatens to crush him, so Kent dismisses the idea.
âDanielâs distracted,â Ivan says with a casual little sigh. âWorking for Alden now, and heâs got
Jerome to think about â donât want him getting jealous - â
Kentâs eyes flash open at this and his head snaps to look at Ivan. What?
âOh,â Ivan says, genuinely surprised. And then Ivan laughs, delighted, as he leans back in his chair.
âOh, you didnât know about that, did you?â
