Chapter 38
Trapped with My Billionaire Ex-Husband (Blair and Sebastian)
Chapter 38
BLAIRE
As the world spun, my grip on consciousness wavered. Alexander's
voice became distant echoes, and the cabâs rhythmic hum melded into
an indistinct melody. The pain in my arms, once sharp and searing,
transformed into a dull throb, fading into the background of my
disoriented senses.
When I regained some semblance of awareness, I found myself in a
hospital bed, the sterile white surroundings a stark contrast to the
vibrant chaos of the gala. Alexander sat nearby, a mix of concern and
relief etched on his face.
âEasy there,â he said gently. âYou passed out for a bit. The doctors said
it might be a combination of stress and the pain from your injuries.â
I tried to piece together the fragments of my consciousness. It seems
like the medication is starting to wear off. The pain started to crawl into
my b*dy once again as I remembered what happened last night.
âSebastian...â I uttered his name without thinking.
Alexander leaned in, his gaze filled with a mix of understanding and
resolve. âWe'll handle this, Blaire. For now, let's concentrate on getting
you well. The doctors will be here soon for another checkup.â
âI appreciate your assistance, Alexander. I didnât intend to spoil your
evening,â I apologized.
âSpoiled? You've turned my dull night into something thrilling. It's not
every day you get to experience such drama,â he quipped, attempting
to lighten up the mood.
I mustered a smile, grateful for the help and support I got from a
stranger. We were in the midst of our conversation when the doctor
entered my room.
âGood evening, Miss Banks. How are you feeling?â the doctor inquired.
âI'm a bit dizzy, doc, but better than I was a while ago,â I replied.
The doctor proceeded to examine my injuries and assess the severity
of the cuts. As he tended to my wounds, Alexander stood by, his
presence a reassuring anchor in the midst of the medical procedures.
âYou'll need some stitches, but nothing too serious. We'll make sure
you're comfortable,â the doctor assured me. While tending to my
injuries, he paused and looked at me with a subtle change in
expression. âMiss Banks, there's something else I need to discuss with
you. During the examination, we ran a routine test, and it seems you're
pregnant.â

My eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, the room seemed to
fall silent. The revelation hung in the air, mingling with the echoes of the
earlier chaos. The news of my pregnancy added another layer of
complexity to the already tangled web of emotions and relationships.
âPregnant?â I repeated, my voice barely a whisper.
The doctor nodded. âOh, so I figure you're not aware of it. I'm sorry. I
didn't mean to ruin the surprise,â he said as he looked at Alexander,
who was watching us intently, He probably assumes that Alexander is
my husband.
The doctor's attempt at humor fell flat in the gravity of the situation. I
exchanged a brief glance with Alexander, whose expression shifted
from curiosity to understanding.
âI wasn't aware,â I finally admitted, my mind racing to comprehend the
implications of this unexpected news.
âWell, despite your current situation right now, it's still good news, isn't
it?â he commented,
I mustered a smile, not letting him notice my discomfort. As he left the
room, Alexander spoke up with a thoughtful expression, Pregnancy
adds another layer to everything, doesn't it?"
I blew a loud sigh. âIt does,â I answered.
âI know it isnât my place to ask, but I will ask anyway. Do you plan to tell
him?â he asked.
I looked at Alexander, contemplating his question. The weight of the
revelation, combined with the complexity of my relationship with
Sebastian, made the decision far from straightforward.
âI honestly donât know,â I admitted, a sense of vulnerability lingering in
my voice. âIt's not just about me anymore, and figuring out what to do in
my situation needs a lot of consideration.â
Alexander nodded, understanding the intricacies of the situation. âTake
your time, Blaire. Whatever you decide, make sure it's what's best for
you and the little one on the way.â
âThank you, Alex.â
âYou're welcome. Do you feel better? Would you like to stay here in the
hospital for the night or do you want me to bring you home? I already
paid for it. So might as well used it,â he joked.
I chuckled, appreciating the lighthearted moment amid the gravity of my

circumstances. It wasn't a bad idea given my current situation. I needed
some time to think of what I need to do next. I think a night for myself
away from Sebastian is a pretty good idea. âI think I'll take your
suggestion and stay for night.â
âThat's great! Would you like me to stay here with you?â he asked.
âI think you've already done more than enough, Alexander. I don't want
to be more nuance. I'm sure you have more than important place to be
than here at the hospital.â
âNah! I think I'd stay. I have someone at home that I'm trying to stay
away from,â he said as he sat comfortably on the couch.
It's the only time that I get to get a good look at the sp ac ious hospital
room that Alexander got for me. I feel like I'm in a hotel rather than a
hospital.
The luxurious hospital suite exuded opulence in every detail. Plush
carpets cush ioned each step, leading to spa cious rooms adorned with
tasteful furnishings. Expansive windows frame panoramic views,
allowing natural light to cascade onto polished. marble floors.
The master bedroom featured a king-sized bed dressed in high-thread-
count linens, promising unparalleled comfort. Elegant drapes adorned
the windows, framing a breathtaking cityscape or serene landscape. A
well-appointed sitting area boasted designer furniture, inviting
relaxation in style.
The living space seamlessly blended comfort and sophistication. Plush
sofas and designer décor created an inviting ambiance. A private dining
area offered the perfect. setting for gourmet meals, served on fine
china.
I shook my head with a smile on my face as I watched Alexander lay
comfort while
watching the TV. My attention was focused on the TV when we heard a
loud sound coming from my bag. Judging by the sound coming from my
bag, I assume it was my phone.
âWould you like me to get it for you?â he asked.
I'm still a little bit dizzy, and my arms still hurt, so I appreciate him doing
that for me. I'm sorry.â I quickly apologize, as he tends to do everything
for me.
âNo sweat,â he said, smiling as he walked towards my purse. I reached
inside my bag and got my phone. He then walked towards my bed and
handed it over to me,
I instantly rolled my eyes when I saw the name flashing on the screen.
Alexander probably noticed my reaction and immediately guessed who
it was.
âSpeaking of the devil?â he asked with a teasing smile on his face as he
switched his eyes. between me and my phone.

âI'm tired. I donât think he still has anything to say that I haven't heard
tonight,â I said as I hung up the phone. I turned it off right after ending
the call.
âAre you certain about that?" he inquired, furrowing his brow. âYour
husband might initiate a full-blown search and rescue mission for you,â
he suggested.
âAfter witnessing the chaos at the gala, do you genuinely believe my
husband would to such lengths?â I retorted.
go
He shrugged nonchalantly. âWell, it's your husband. You understand
him better than I do.â
âI'll be dam ned if you know him better than I do,â I replied, shaking my
head and enjoying the comfort brought by my new-found friend,
Alexander.
As the morning sunlight gently illuminated the hospital room, Alexander
returned with a cup of steaming coffee and a sympathetic smile.
âMorning, Blaire. How are you feeling today?â He asked, placing the
coffee on the bedside table.
âBetter, I guess. The doctors say I should be ready to leave soon,â I
replied, offering at faint smile.
âThat's good to hear. And, um, about last night-the pregnancy
revelation and everything. How are you holding up?â Alexander inquired
with genuine concern.
I sighed, grappling with the complexities of my situation. âIt's a lot to
take in, but I appreciate your support, Alexander. It helps more than you
know.â
He nodded understandingly. âTake your time, Blaire. Decisions like
these aren't easy!â
As the day unfolded, a nurse checked in, followed by a visit from the
doctor, whose. words blended medical guidance with the challenges of
my personal life.
âMiss Banks, your recovery is progressing well, but we need to discuss
your post- hospital plans,â the doctor explained.
âPost-hospital plans?â I repeated, uncertainty tingling my voice.
âYes, considering the circumstances and your health, it's essential to
have yourself checked by an OB-GYN as soon as you can,â the doctor
clarified.

Alexander, sitting nearby, chimed in, âIf you need any assistance or a
place to stay, you know you can count on me. Blaire.â
âThank you, Alexander. I'll figure something out.â I replied, grateful for
his continued. support.
But this is something that I shouldn't take lightly. I already have a life
depending on me and my decisions 1 still haven't decided whether I
should tell Sebastian about my condition. Given his recent actions in
handling our situation. I don't think this child deserves to be caught in
the middle of this My child deserves better. And I'd make sure to give
that to my child, no matter what happened.
âAppreciate it, doc. But for now, I'd prefer heading home. I informed the
doctor. He offered a reassuring nod while handing me all the
prescriptions and medications needed for my wounds.
