Chapter 75
Trapped with My Billionaire Ex-Husband (Blair and Sebastian)
Chapter 75
BLAIRE
After taking a shower, I made my way to the library to pick out some
books. I decided to spend the night in Blazes room to ensure he was
alright, wanting to stay updated on his condition.
The library, adjacent to Sebastian's room, also doubled as his office
when he needed to work from home. I recalled how he had instructed
his staff to relocate his workspace closer to our room so he could
remain nearby while working.
Assuming everything remained unchanged, I headed towards the
library, right next to Sebastian's room. I made a gentle knock on the
door just in case there's someone inside. After a couple of minutes, the
other side of the door remained silent. I assumed it was empty, so I
decided to grab a few books as quickly as possible before anyone
came in.
Though I'm already aware that Sebastian specifically told everyone in
this house to make it exactly how it was used to be, it still caught me off
guard how everything seems to be exactly the same.
I shook my head, trying to erase the unwanted feelings that were
creeping into my system. I should stop giving meaning to everything. As
I scanned the bookshelves, I found a few books that piqued my
interest. After grabbing everything I needed, I immediately went out of
the room and headed towards Blazeâs room.
I opened the door carefully as I tried my best not to make any sound so
I wouldn't
disturb Blaze. In there, I found the doctor checking up on Blaze while b
sleeping.
âGood evening, doc,â I greeted.
was peacefully
He smiled and said, âGood evening.â His eyes landed on the books that
I was clutching against my chest. âYou know you don't have to stay
here, right? I have nurses and medical personnel that will look after
Blaze around the clock,â he explained.
âI'm aware of it, doc. But I'd still prefer to be by his side when he wakes
up. Besides, I'd also want to know every update regarding his
condition,â I said.
âI donât speak in general, but I'd like you to know that it's common for
mothers to feel guilty whenever they take some time to take care of
themselves. There's nothing wrong if you'd like to have room for
yourself and have a good night's rest.â
âI can assure you, doc. It's not because of guilt that I wanted to stay
close to my son,â I

replied. My eyes automatically landed on the door adjacent to the room,
right next to
us.
âThen it's safe to guess that it has something to do with Sebastian,â he
chuckled. âYou don't have to worry about anything. He's not in there,â
he said when he noticed me looking at the adjacent door.
âI'm not asking,â I replied before walking towards the single couch and
pulling it closer to Blaze's bed. I pretend to focus on the book that I was
holding while Maximus continues checking up on Blaze.
I took a discreet glance towards him, and I saw him with a mysterious
smile playing on his lips as he shook his head. It seems like he was
amused with our setup.
He started packing up his things as he finished with his routine. He then
shifted his gaze in my direction. I quickly averted my gaze and
pretended as if I were busy reading the book.
âOne of the nurses will be back around two in the morning to check up
on him,â he informed me. âI'll go ahead. My room is downstairs if you
ever have any questions regarding Blazeâs condition. But I can assure
you that he's in good hands.â He was about to walk to the door when
he stopped and turned around. âSebastian might be an as shole, and
his ways were a little bit drastic, but he did bring the best medical team
for -Blaze,â he said before finally leaving the room.
I'm perfectly aware of that. Though he indeed made a drastic decision
by taking Blaze out of the hospital without my consent, he made sure
that Blaze was well taken care of. But despite his genuine concern for
Blaze, he still has no right to make decisions for us.
I looked at my son, who was sleeping peacefully. If only I could take all
the pain that he was suffering, I would.
I stood up and carefully tucked him in as I gently caressed his hair, then
planted a soft kiss on his forehead. After making sure that he was
comfortable, I went back to my seat and continued reading.
Time slipped away unnoticed, and it was already ten in the evening
when I heard a stir downstairs. Quickly marking the page with a
bookmark, I set down the book and made my way to check what the
commotion was all about.
As soon as I opened the door, I immediately heard a familiar voice
screaming loudly.
âHow dare you prevent me from entering my house? Do you want to
lose your job? Because I'll assure you that's what's going to happen if
you don't get out of my way!â

There I saw the same woman, whom I wished I never met again. I saw
her yelling at Brad, who was blocking her from entering the door. I was
leaning on the railings as I watched her force herself inside the house.
She isn't my problem, and I don't really want to talk to her, so I decided
to go back to Blaze's room and let Brad and the others handle her. But
as I was about to turn around, I heard someone shouting at me.
âWait! You, b! tch! Who the hell are you? Turn around and face me, you
sivt!â she shouted.
A mischievous smile played on my lips as I realized the irony of our
situation. Who could have imagined that in our next encounter, we'd be
at opposite ends of the rope?
I slowly turned around to face her, just like she wanted. I was satisfied
witnessing how horror was spread all over her face when she saw me.
Her jaw dropped as her eyes widened in shock. She was completely
stunned as she watched me walk down the stairs.
"Y-You? Y-You're back?â she stuttered.
dear step...
âIn flesh,â I answered. âI wanted to tell you how itâs nice to see you
again, my or, wait, I mean half-sister. But that would be a lie. Because if
it were just for me, I'd never want to see your face again.â
âThen you shouldn't have come back! How dare you ruin my marriage?
I should have killed you!â She shouted, and her eyes were filled with
rage.
âSeeing how you're still alive and well, it seems like you managed to
dodge death twice. How strange, right?â I commented sarcastically. âOf
all the lies that you told us, I wouldn't be surprised if your reoccurring
sickness was one of them.â
anger.
âHow dare you accuse me of such things?â she said as her eyes were
glaring in She smirked before crossing her arms in front of her chest as
she strengthened her back as if trying to control the situation. âNo
matter what you say, I'm still Sebastian's wife. We're married, and
you're nothing but a woman who can't accept the fact that Sebastian
chooses me over you.â
âWell, good for you, Catherine. You can have Sebastian for all you
want. We will be out of your hair if it's not for your âhusband,â who
insisted that we should stay here,â I replied confidently. âHow does it
feel now that you're in my position?â I taunted her. She scoffs, âWe're
not the same, Blaire. I'm not a pushover like you. I won't just back down
and sulk in the corner when someone is trying to steal my man. I'm
going to make sure that you'll be out of our lives for good,â she
threatened. She then turned to Brad, who was standing right beside
her. âThrow this trash away from my house. I don't

like it when my place gets dirty,â she ordered.
Brad didn't move an inch, as if he didn't hear Catherine's order. She
frowned when she noticed that Brad remained still. âAre you deaf? Do I
have to repeat myself? My gosh! Why am I surprised by stu pid
people?â she said. âWhat are you standing there for?â Drag this woman
out of my house!â she yelled before she hit Brad with her purse.
I was surprised when she did that. I understand that sheâs upset, but I
don't think it's right to hurt someone who hasn't done anything to you.
âI'm sorry, ma'am. But we can't do that,â Brad finally answered.
âWhat do you mean you can't do that? I'm the wife of your boss. Do you
want to lose your job?" She said it in annoyance.
âI'm just following orders, ma'am. I apologize,â he said, bowing his
head.
"You, dumbas s!â she shouted as she continued to hit Brad
to With her purse.
I'm so fed up with Catherine's whining. I decided to step up and take
matters into my own hands. âThat's enough!â I raised my voice, which
silenced Catherine for a minute. She was completely surprised when I
shouted at her.
âThe nerve! Just who do you think you are, raising your voice at me like
that? You're on my property; I can have you arrested for trespas sing!â
she threatened.
A sly smile creeps out of my lips. âI'd like to see you try, Catherine. In
the meantime, I'll have to ask you to leave. Everybody here had a long
and tiring day. I can't let you disturb their evening rest. Brad, please
escort Catherine out of my house.â I intentionally emphasized that last
word.
âDonât you dare!â she yelled when Brad tried to hold her arm. âYou're
following her order and not mine?â she said to Brad, shock evident on
her face.
âLeave, Catherine, while I'm still being nice. Don't wait for me to drag
you out of here myself.â
âYou have no right!â she responded.
âReally? Shall we check? If I remember correctly, Sebastian put this
house under my name. And since Sebastian didn't change anything
around this house, I'll assume so is the title of this house, which only
means one thing.â I intentionally hung my words in the air. âYou're the
one who's trespas sing, and I'm the one who has the right to have you
arrested.â

She scoffs in disbelief. âDonât be delusional, Blaire. Everything you
owned was gone when you decided to leave Sebastian. What you're
saying is impossible. You're bluffing, and I'm not st upid to take your
bait. I'm going to call the police, and you'll be out of this house in no
time!â she said.
âGo ahead. Do what you have to do. âIn the meantime, I'd like you to
step out of my house now,â I said before signaling Brad to take
Catherine out of the house.
He nodded in response before he tried to hold Catherineâs arm in his
attempt to make her leave, but Catherine raised her hand and slapped
Brad without a warning.
âI said don't touch me! You're fired!â she yelled at him
That was the final straw for me. I seized Catherine's arm and forced her
to meet my
gaze before my hand rose, landing firmly on her cheek. My slap was so
hard that I could feel the stinging pain resonating around my palm. I
smirked upon seeing Catherine's cheeks turn red as blood. I can
already imagine the pain sheâs suffering right now. Before she could
even recover, I quickly grabbed a handful of her hair and dragged her
out of the house.
She keeps on resisting, trying her best to remove my hand from
clutching her hair, but she fails. She was cursing and screaming in pain
as I dragged her from the entrance all the way to the gate.
âOpen the gate!â I bellowed at the guard, who swiftly obeyed my
command. As soon as it swung open, I shoved her with all my might
until she stumbled to the ground. âIt's long overdue. I should have done
that the moment I discovered the lies you told to ruin my marriage.â
She sneered, âLook at you. Acting so high and mighty when the truth is,
you're nothing but a cheap mistress. You can do nothing to change
that.â
âDonât worry, my dear sister. I have no intention of stealing Sebastian
away from you like you did. You can have him for as long as you want.
But please do me a favor and tell your husband to leave me alone.
Maybe by that, we'll both get what we wanted,â I said before leaving her
outside. âClose the gate, and don't let that woman step into this house
while we're here.â
âThis is far from over, Blaire!â Catherine threatened, but I didnât bother
looking at her. âYes, this is only the beginning.â I whispered to myself.
