Chapter 1042 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
That night, Dustin and Natasha sat by Haleyâs bedside in one of the wards of East Swinton Hospital. Their hearts ached for her as they watched her sleep.
She had just gone through an operation. All her injuries had been treated and bandaged. Dustin had even performed acupuncture on her to ensure that her blood circulation was fine.
Though she was no longer in danger, the shock of the accident was still traumatizing for a five- yearâold child. âDonât worry, Haley will be fine.â Dustin held Natashaâs hand to comfort her.
âThose beasts! They didnât even spare the child!â Natasha hissed through clenched teeth, furious. âI will get to the bottom of this. I will not let whoever is behind this off!â Dustin was dead serious.
Whatever he did should not implicate those around him. They had crossed a line now that both Natasha and Haley were harmed.
He would not go easy on wicked people.
âNatasha!â Hector and Ruth rushed in.
They were distraught when they saw the bandage around Natashaâs head. They hurried to ask if she was alright.
âDad, Iâm fine. Just some minor scratches.â Natasha smiled, trying to ease their worries.
âOh, thatâs good. Itâs great to hear that youâre fine.â Hector heaved a sigh of relief.
âI was shocked when I heard you guys had been in an accident. Thank god youâre all safe.â
âHow did you guys get into an accident? You guys werenât drunk driving, were you?â Ruth asked.
âIt wasnât us. Someone did it on purpose.â Natasha did not hide the truth from them and recounted
everything that happened.
Both Hector and Ruth frowned.
âWho dares do something like this? How could they do something like this in broad daylight? Whatâs the point of the law?â
âWeâre looking into it. Iâm sure weâll have our answers by tomorrow,â Dustin answered.
âNo matter whoâs behind it, they must pay for this!â Hectorâs expression was dark.
It was one thing for others to scheme and plot against them. But now that his daughterâs life was threatened, he would not sit by and watch.
âWell, I see youâre all here!â Suddenly, a wellâdressed and highâspirited man strode in with his
head held high.
There were two adjutants in military uniforms following behind him.
âDylan? Why are you here?â Natashaâs brows furrowed.
âI heard that you were involved in a traffic accident. Iâm your cousin; it only makes sense that I come and visit you.â
Dylan looked her up and down before he smiled. âBut I think youâre fine. You donât look terribly injured. Congratulations!â
âCut the nonsense. What are you here for?â Natasha did not wish to waste time conversing with
him.
After Hector had been forced from his position as head of the Harmon family, their relationship had gone sour.
âI came here to check if youâre fine and to chat with Uncle Hector.â Dylan turned to look at Hector.
âMay I speak to you in private, Uncle Hector?â
âThereâs no need for that. If thereâs anything you need to say, you can say it here,â Hector said.
âAlright then, since weâre all family, I wonât beat around the bush anymore.â Dylan sat down on a chair, making himself comfortable.
Then, he smiled. âUncle Hector, the Harmon ancestors have left us a treasure map, havenât they?
âAccording to the rules, the head of the family should keep the map. Now that youâre no longer head of the family, donât you think itâs time you return the map?â
