Chapter 1069 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âOh, Iâm here to visit General Murray,â Dustin answered with a smile. Vivian looked at him disdainfully and commented, âHmph! What a suck-up!â
Ever since the band-aid incident, she had a grudge against Dustin. But she had to admit that he was pretty skilled. That was because Vivian found out she had lung cancer after being shot and hospitalized.
Fortunately, they detected the cancer in time. With Vivianâs familyâs wealth, she got the best treatments, and her condition stabilized.
Meanwhile, Sheilaâs attention was on Dustin. âMy grandfather has gone out to attend to some matters. He wonât be back for a while. âWhy donât you come in for coffee first? I have some questions to ask you, too.â
Without waiting for Dustinâs response, Sheila immediately dragged him into the Murray residence. She finally got the chance to get close to him. So, Sheila would not let him go.
âSheila, didnât we agree to practice horseback riding?â Vivian reminded. âOh, youâre right! I got so excited that I forgot about it.â
Sheila looked at Dustin and asked cautiously, âDustin, thereâs a horse ranch at the hill behind my house. Why donât you hang out with us while waiting for him?
âWhen my grandfather returns, Iâll take you you?â to meet him. Is that fine with âSure.â Dustin nodded in response. After all, he did not want to ruin her mood.
âThatâs great. Come on! Letâs go!â Sheila exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear. She turned around and led the group to the hill at the back of the Murray residence.
âEvan, just look at how happy Sheila is. It seems like sheâs interested in this man. You better be careful,â Vivian lowered her voice and warned Evan.
Evan looked at Dustin with contempt. He sneered, âHmph! Heâs just a martial artist without power or status. Heâs not worthy of Sheila!
âEven if she likes him, the Murray family would never agree. Itâs because theyâre from different worlds. âNo matter how hard he tries, heâll never get into our social circle.â
âThatâs true.â Vivian nodded noncommittally. She knew Dustinâs martial arts skills were impressive. He also possessed some knowledge in the field of medicine.
But these two expertise alone were not enough. Sheila was Christopherâs beloved granddaughter. So, there were three criteria her future husband must meet.
First, he must come from an influential family. Secondly, he has to be full of potential. And lastly, he must have exceptional skills. Dustin was just an ordinary person. So, he did not meet those criteria.
The Murray residence was huge. Within a ten-mile radius, there were mountains and rivers. Everything in that area was theirs..
The group walked for over ten minutes. Finally, they arrived at the private horse ranch. It was located at the foot of the hill.
There were over a hundred horses on the horse ranch. Moreover, most of the horses were of high-quality breeds. Anyone from the Murray family could train or race horses there. Some talented youngsters of the family would also have the privilege of being paired with valuable horses.
Sheila was familiar with the surroundings. She called over the stable manager and led everyone into the stable. They were getting ready to choose which horse they would ride.
The stable was large and had numerous stalls with horses. Since the workers cleaned the stable regularly, it was spotless. They could even smell a hint of grassy and woody aroma.
âDustin, what do you think of this horse?â Sheila asked as she led him to a white horse. The white horse was around five feet tall. It had a well-rounded and graceful body with a slender neck and limbs. It also had a shiny coat.
The horse moved with a light, elegant gait. It looked majestic. âNot bad. Itâs truly a fine horse,â Dustin nodded with admiration.
âHehe! This is Gale, and heâs my ride. Whenever Iâm free, Iâll come by to visit him.â As Sheila spoke, she reached out to stroke the horseâs face. âDustin, donât underestimate Gale. Heâs a prized horse.â
âEvery time my family hosts horse races, Gale never loses. Heâs always the champion!â Sheliaâs eyes lit up. As soon as Sheila said that, a voice came from the stable entrance.
âNever loses? Well, today, Iâll be the winner!â
