Chapter 1075 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âWhy are you so stubborn?â Jayden sighed tiredly, acting helpless. At that moment, Elena suggested. â Since no one can reach a middle ground, how about having a rematch?
âLetâs up the stakes, and the winner gets to decide. How does that sound?â âIâm fine with that. Letâs see if Sheila dares to have a rematch.â Roxanne accepted the idea and looked at Sheila provocatively.
Jayden acted concerned for Shelia. âSheila just hurt herself. How can she ride a horse now? Arenât you making things difficult for her?â
âIf Sheila canât do it, someone else can replace her. She has so many friends here; any one of them can help her.â
Roxanne lifted her head arrogantly and looked at Sheliaâs friends. âHey! Which one of you has the guts to challenge me? One billion dollars for a race.
âYouâll pay if you lose, and the winner gets to take Gale.â Evan, Vivian, and the others looked at each other nervously. The stakes were high. After all, it was one billion dollars for a race.
They knew their riding skills were not as good as Sheilaâs. Most importantly, Gale was injured. There was no way he could race again in a short time. There wasnât another top-tier horse in the horse ranch that could compete against Midnight Shadow.
It did not matter who would race against Roxanne; they would end up humiliating themselves. There was no chance of winning.
âWhatâs the matter? There are so many of you, yet no one dares to accept the challenge. How pathetic!â Roxanne commented disdainfully. The crowd lowered their heads in embarrassment. Yet, they dared not speak up.
At the sight of that, Roxanne smirked triumphantly. âI gave you a chance, Sheila. But you canât blame me because youâre all useless.â
âIâll race against you!â Sheila could not bear it anymore. She stood up with gritted teeth and determined eyes. But because of her nasty fall, Sheila staggered.
She was not in the best condition to race. Suddenly, Dustin reached out and gently patted Sheila on the shoulder. âYouâre injured. Let me do it.â
âDustin, do o you know how to ride a horse?â Sheila was surprised. She did not expect Dustin to offer to race on her behalf. Dustin nodded in response. âI know a little.â
âHmph! Come on! If youâre not good at it, donât do it. Youâll make a fool of yourself!â Evan commented sarcastically. Vivian added scornfully, âThatâs right! Even Sheila canât handle it. âWhatâs the use of you racing against Roxanne? Youâre just embarrassing yourself!â
âIf you lose, youâll need to pay one billion dollars. Youâre just an insurance agent. Do you have that much money?â Elena mocked. The others scoffed at Dustin. âSome people just love to show off. He isnât even aware of his capabilities.â
Dustin was merely an insurance agent. Everyone thought that he was thinking too highly of himself. How dare he tried to take part in a horse race? It was an activity that only the elites did.
âAre you confident you can do it, Dustin?â Sheila asked cautiously. Dustin smiled. âDonât worry, Iâm sure I can win back Gale for you.â
âHmph! Are you confident? Letâs see how youâll act when you lose!â Roxanne roared. She raised her chin and said to the stable manager, âBring this man to the stable and let him pick a horse. Just let him choose any of the good ones.â
After hearing Roxanneâs order, the stable manager said politely, âPlease follow me, sir.â
Then, he led Dustin into the stable. Not long after, Dustin came out of the stable. Everyone was shocked to see the horse he had chosen. They were astonished because Dustin had picked a pony.
