Chapter 1083 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
Edgar had a dark, hostile expression.
âI wonât!â Sheila bit her lips, not moving. âYou-!â Edgar raised his arm, about to strike her again, when Dustin grabbed him. He said coldly, âTry that again, and Iâll break your arm!â
âYou impudent bastard!â
âLet go of Sir Edgar!â The soldiers advanced toward them. Their fiery stares fixated on Dustin and their gun aimed at him.
âStop it right there!â Suddenly, someone roared from the outside. Everyone turned to look to see a middle -aged man with a heroic appearance rush in with a beautiful lady.
It was Sheilaâs parents, Caden Murray and Lily Doyle. âEdgar, what exactly did Sheila do that you have to point a gun at her?â Caden questioned coldly. He saw that slap as clear as day.
âCaden, Roxanne was harmed and is still lying at the hospital. Iâm just trying to track down the culprit,â Edgar stated firmly.
âAre you implying that Shiela is the culprit?â Caden asked with narrowed eyes. âSheila may not be the culprit, but her friends will not escape suspicion, especially this brat!â Edgar pointed at Dustin.
âItâs you.â Caden looked over and frowned. They had a prior clash over the Gozoraberry back in Swinton. And for some reason, his father had stripped him of his position as head of the family after that incident.
That was why he hated Dustin. âDo you know him, Caden?â Edgar gave Dustin the once over.
âIâve met him once. I wouldnât say I know him.â
Caden said passively, âEdgar, Father will be back soon. If he sees you making such a fuss, he might blame you. âIf you trust me, leave this matter to me. If someone planned this, I will find the culprit and avenge Roxanne!â
As he spoke, he glanced at Dustin. Edgar hesitated for a moment before finally agreeing. âFine, Iâll let you have your way and let them go today. But youâd better give me a proper explanation afterward.â
âNo problem.â Caden nodded.
âDismiss!â With a wave, Edgar left with his army in haste. Although he didnât care about Caden, he had to respect his father. He didnât dare escalate the situation.
âLily, take Sheila and her friends to rest. I would like to speak with Dustin.â Caden signaled his wife. âSheila, no need to worry. Theyâre just going to talk.â Lily smiled in reassurance before leading them out.
âBrat, what are you aiming for approaching my daughter?â After everyone left, Caden went straight to the point. âYou have misunderstood. Iâm just friends with Sheila,â Dustin said impassively.
âJust friends?â Caden snorted.
âIf youâre just friends, why did Sheila defend you so strongly?â âSheila has a kind personality. Is there a problem with her standing up for a friend?â Dustin countered.
âBrat, donât think I donât know what youâre up to.â Caden looked serious, saying, âIâve seen many of your kind. Arenât you just finding an opportunity to climb up the social ranks?
âHonestly, youâre not worthy! If you had any sense, youâd stay away from my daughter.
âEven though I saved you earlier, I can destroy you just as easily!â
