Chapter 1116 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âMr. Murray! Mr. Murray, wake up!â
The loud shout suddenly interrupted Sheilaâs thoughts. She turned quickly to see Jayden, who was unconscious.
âJayden!â Sheila rushed to check on him. Dustin had punched Jayden hard in the stomach. It left him barely breathing and on the brink of death.
âThat Dustin went way too far, injuring Jayden like this,â Vivian fumed. âI wish that guy hadnât run off so quickly. Or Iâd have beaten him to death,â Evan grumbled. Though they couldnât beat him in a fight, they were seething in anger.
âQuick, letâs get him to the hospital!â Sheila called for help, and they quickly got Jayden into a car, racing to East Swinton Hospital.
Soon, the doctors began to treat Jaydenâs injury. It wasnât until late at night that Jayden was finally out of danger. Luckily, Dustin had held back to avoid causing fatal harm.
In the ICU, Jayden lay unconscious. He looked as pale as a ghost. Caden and the others stood vigil at his side.
The past few days had been tumultuous for the Murray family. First, Roxanne was injured by a horse. Caden ended up in the hospital, and now Jayden was in critical condition. What worried them the most was that all these incidents seemed connected to Dustin.
âHowâs Jayden doing?â Edgar rushed into the ward, looking disheveled. Heâd been busy all day and had just heard about his son.
âEdgar, donât worry too much. Jayden is now in stable condition,â Caden reassured him.
âWho would dare attack my son?â Edgar fumed. As the head of the Murray family, he was nearly untouchable in Millsburg. He wondered who would be bold enough to attack his son.
âItâs Dustin,â Caden said firmly. âThat punk has no respect. He attacked Jayden and caused serious harm. Itâs clear he has no regard for our family.â
âDustin?â Edgarâs face darkened. âThat scoundrel! He harmed Roxanne before, and now heâs hurt my son. Iâll make sure he pays dearly!â
He was livid with his daughter hospitalized just the day before and now his son in a hospital bed.
âEdgar, please, letâs not make a scene. We need to be cautious,â Caden advised with a serious tone. âWhat do you mean? Do you want me to act like nothing happened to my kids?â Edgar was furious.
âDonât get me wrong. Iâm thinking about whatâs best for you,â Caden said firmly. He added, âRemember, itâs Fatherâs birthday tomorrow. We donât need a big celebration, but guests will come and go. If we create a ruckus, it will damage the familyâs reputation and upset him.â
Edgar furrowed his brow. While he wanted to confront Dustin, he realized that causing a commotion on the eve of their fatherâs birthday was inappropriate.
âCaden, after everything thatâs happened, do you have any suggestions?â Edgar asked.
âLetâs tap into the resources of the Murray family. Weâre sure to attract attention, so I propose we seek help from the Martial Arts Alliance. They have skilled people, and with the right money, we can handle Dustin. Itâs a practical plan,â Caden suggested.
âYouâre right. I almost forgot about that,â Edgar said, his anger fading.
