Chapter 1123 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
As more and more guests arrived, there was a great commotion in the banquet hall. âHello, Iâm the regional chief of Aurumvale. I wish General Murray a year filled with health and happiness!â
âIâm Cullen Avery from Advantia. May General Murrayâs birthday be as wonderful as the memories youâve created.â
âIâm the president of the Haydon Group. I wish General Murray a birthday filled with love and gratitude!â
After their arrival was announced, a group of well-dressed guests entered the room. Among them were leading military leaders, mayors, affluent business moguls, and prominent figures. They all had rare and valuable gifts with them.
âThank you all for coming to celebrate with us. Please, take your seats,â Edgar, the next family patriarch, warmly welcomed the guests. Christopher, the man of the hour, acknowledged the well-wishes with a smile.
âSir Gage has arrived!â
A clear voice cut through the chatter, and all eyes turned to the entrance. A middle-aged man dressed in white entered. He was accompanied by two cloaked figures whose faces were hidden.
âIsnât that General Murrayâs youngest son, Gage Murray?â someone whispered.
âI heard he had conflicts with his family and disappeared for years. Who would have thought heâd return today?â
âItâs only right that a son comes back and celebrates his fatherâs birthday,â another remarked. Christopher had three sons: Edgar, the oldest; Caden, the middle; and Gage, the youngest.
Gage was notable and known for his bravery and intelligence. He was the designated family heir, but then something strange happened. He suddenly left home, and for five years, no one knew where he went. Today, he surprisingly reappeared.
âGage?â Edgar exclaimed joyfully and rushed up to embrace him. âItâs been so many years, and youâre finally back!â
âEdgar, have you been well all these years?â Gage smiled weakly.
âEverything is going splendidly! Itâs wonderful to see you again after all this time. Youâve become even stronger, just as I expected!â Edgar patted Gageâs shoulder with a smile.
âGage, why didnât you inform us earlier that youâre coming back?â Caden added cheerily.
âI figured Iâd surprise you all. You wonât be mad at me, will you?â Gage teased.
âYouâve come back, and I couldnât be happier. How could I be mad at you? As the saying goes, united we stand, divided we fall. We three brothers can build a bright future together with your return!â Caden said.
âAlright, letâs not dwell on this now.â Edgar interrupted.and led Gage to Christopher. âDad, guess who has returned.â
âFather, Iâve come back to celebrate your birthday,â Gage said respectfully, presenting his gift with both hands.
Christopher didnât reach out to accept it. Instead, he snorted coldly. âYou left home, and now you dare to come back?â
