âIt was me,â Dustin replied calmly. The moment he stood up, he immediately caught everyoneâs attention.
The Murray family was in grave danger. The guests also felt threatened and hesitated to intervene. No one expected anyone to step forward. âWho are you?â Gage eyed Dustin suspiciously.
âIâm a guest of the Murray family,â Dustin replied calmly.
âThis matter is none of your business. You better not interfere,â Gage warned. Dustin shook his head slightly. âI owe General Murray a favor. Thatâs why I canât just stand by and do nothing.â
âYoung man, itâs noble to return favors, but you should know your limits. If you canât do that, trying to be a hero will only lead to trouble!â Gage said sternly.
âIâve heard of the infamous Grimshade and Duskfang of Eskus. Today, I want to test my skills against them,â Dustin said. He clenched his fists as if he was prepared for a fight.
Everyone in the room was stunned by his request. âWhat the hell! Is this guy crazy? Heâs challenging a grandmaster? Is he trying to die?â Sheila exclaimed.
âHmph! What a fool! Does he think heâs tough because he knows some martial arts? He even dares to challenge a grandmaster? Heâs just asking for trouble!â Evan sneered. âHeâs digging his own grave. Only a fool would take on someone whoâs clearly out of his league!â
People murmured in amazement at Dustinâs bravery. No one had expected such audacity. Not only did he defy warnings, but he also challenged a grandmaster. It was like a praying mantis trying to stop a speeding car. What a daring action!
âHmph! Since you want to die so badly, Iâll grant your wish!â Gage pointed to Grimshade and said, âGet rid of him!â
âSure thing!â Grimshade smirked. He approached with his arms crossed and looked at Dustin. âKid, donât tell me Iâm being unfair. You get to take three swings first, and if you-â
âOkay.â
Before Grimshade could finish his sentence, Dustin moved with lightning speed. He delivered a powerful blow to Grimshadeâs abdomen. A thunderous sound echoed through the hall.
Grimshade writhed in pain, and his body was thrown more than thirty feet away. He fell heavily, leaving a deep crater where he had crashed. He grimaced in pain and pointed a shaky finger at Dustin. âYou ⦠you donât play fair!â
With those words, Grimshade spat out blood and fainted.
