An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1164
Ray Reeds looked like he was in his early 30s, but he was already a fully developed divine-level martial artist. It could be said that his innate ability was one of the best among the younger generation in Balerno and even Oakvale.
âYouâre not bad, old man. Ray moved his slightly numb arm. He smirked, âIn the whole of Balerno, not many can still stand after taking a punch from me.â
âYouâre quite good yourself, kid. Too bad youâre still too inexperienced.âCornelius shook his head and said, âIf you leave now, you can save yourself some pain. If not, I wonât be holding back.â
Ray laughed. âOld man, you really think you could defeat me?â
He turned his head sideways, tightened his fists, and sneered, âThat was just a warm-up. If I actually put in effort, I can defeat you any minute.â
âHmph! Cocky!â Corneliusâ face darkened. âYouâre punching above your weight. Let me teach you a real lesson today!â
As he spoke, he jumped and shot out like an arrow. He shouted as his fist landed on Rayâs chest. âFire Punch!â
Ray didnât escape. Instead, he let out an angry cry and swung his fist out. When they were at an armâs length from each other, a white smoky substance suddenly sprayed out from Rayâs sleeve.
Corneliusâ pupil constricted, and he instinctively closed his eyes to protect himself. However, it was too late. The white substance was sprayed all over his face. He staggered backward. He felt dizzy and weak all over.
He initially thought the white substance could be ash, so he closed his eyes to protect himself. He didnât know that it was actually a tranquilizer. It was such a strong tranquilizer that not even his true energy could resist. âHere I come!â
Ray took advantage of the circumstance and punched Cornelius in his stomach. Cornelius was punched so hard that he was thrown off his balance and wobbled backward. He was bleeding from his nose and mouth, and he could feel his true energy seeping away.
âYou ⦠Youâre really despicable! â
Cornelius wiped away the trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth. He was gasping for breath, and his forehead was drenched in sweat. âAll is fair in love and war. Whatâs wrong if I have a trick or two up my sleeves so I can win?â
Ray let out a wild laugh, âFor all the years that you have lived, donât you know that the martial world is a dangerous place, and thereâs no one you can trust? Serves you right!â
He knew he couldnât win in a direct confrontation, so he used the Tranqurin that he treasured. Anyone below the rank of a grandmaster would feel weak the moment they came into contact with it.
âYou bastard! I canât believe youâre from a good guild. Arenât you ashamed of yourself for using tricks?â Cornelius yelled angrily.
âAshamed? The winner takes all. Youâve lost. Now, admit defeat! Stop yapping. You die now!â Ray snorted and rushed forward with his fist raised, ready to punch Cornelius.
The punch would be deadly. Before the punch even landed, one could already feel its pressure. Cornelius could feel goosebumps rising all over his body, and his face was contorted into a horrified expression.
When he couldnât summon his true energy, there was no way he could survive this punch. At the very last moment, a silver needle flew out of nowhere and struck Rayâs fist.
âHuh?â Ray trembled and retrieved his punch quickly. It was as if he was electrocuted. He looked up and saw Dustinâs cold eyes. He shouted, âHey, you! How dare you stop me?â
âYou used Tranqurin, youâve already won the battle. Why did you have to kill him, too? I donât think thatâs fair.â Dustin replied calmly.
âHmph! I kill whoever I please! Itâs none of your business! If you insist on making it difficult, Iâll kill you too!â Ray threatened loudly.
âKill me? Youâre not good enough yet.â
Dustin said with a grim expression, â And donât say I didnât warn you. If you act foolishly, I will beat you to death. I mean it.â
