An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1169
Night had fallen at the Balerno martial arts alliance headquarters. A group of alliance leaders gathered around Rayâs lifeless body. They gestured and murmured among themselves.
When Rayâs body was brought back an hour ago, it caused a great commotion in the alliance. Not only was he a disciple of the Celestial Alliance, but he was also Ronaldâs nephew.
Ray was the brightest star in the alliance. He was known for his extraordinary talent and potential. Many believed that in a few years, he would succeed Ronald as the leader of the martial arts alliance. But Rayâs sudden and mysterious death had shocked the entire alliance.
âRay? Where is my son?â
At that moment, a burly, disheveled middle-aged man rushed in. The crowd moved aside as he pushed through them. Those who were slow were knocked over by him.
The man was Quincey Reeds, Rayâs father. He rushed toward his sonâs lifeless body and lifted the white cloth that covered him. Shock filled him as he looked at his dead son.
âRay!â Quincey cried out after recovering from his shock. He threw himself on Rayâs body and sobbed uncontrollably.
He had worked so hard to raise such an excellent man. But he could not understand why Ray had to die before he could accomplish a great feat. In the midst of his grief, Quincey looked up grimly. He asked, âWho killed my son?â
A staff reported, âAccording to the allianceâs investigation, Dustin Rhys killed Ray.â
âDustin Rhys?â Quincey gritted his teeth in anger. âBring me that bastard named Dustin. Iâll have my own revenge!â
âWait!â The staff panicked. Then, he quickly advised, âMr. Reeds, please, calm down. Dustin has a formidable background. You mustnât act rashly.â
âI donât care about his background. He killed my son, so he must pay!â Quincey grabbed the staff by the collar. âIf you dare to stop me, Iâll deal with you too!â
âMr. Reeds, please listen to me. Iâm not trying to stop you. Itâs just that Dustin is so strong. Ordinary martial artists canât handle him.â The staffâs face turned pale.
Quincey was no ordinary man. He was Ronaldâs brother and an elder in the alliance, so the staff dared not offend him.
âOrdinary martial artists canât handle this guy? Then, letâs get the team from the Enforcement Hall!â Quincey exclaimed.
âEven the enforcement team couldnât stop Dustin. Heâs a young grandmaster who once defeated Augustus. I think only Sir Reeds can subdue him,â the staff quickly explained.
âA young grandmaster?â Quincey was shocked to hear that, and his fiery anger slowly subsided. He didnât know who Dustin was. Still, he had heard of the title âyoung grandmasterâ before.
Dustin was the martial arts genius who had won the Knighthood Tournament. He even defeated Augustus and was a household name in Balerno.
Apart from the five ultimate grandmasters, no one could match the young grandmaster. The staffâs admonition had kept Quincey from acting recklessly.
