An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1174
The girl with the ponytail hugged Dustin and Cornelius. âIâm Lyn Rosier, a disciple of the Moonlight Reverence. Whatâs your name?â
âIâm Rhys, and this is Mr. Adler,â Dustin replied.
âHello, Mr. Rhys and Mr. Adler,â Lyn responded respectfully.
âDamn it! How dare you hit me?â
Having been slapped earlier, Toddy was still seething with rage. He immediately lunged at the unconscious enforcement team captain. Then, he let loose a barrage of punches and kicks to vent his frustration. The unjust slap had filled Toddy with murderous intent.
âThatâs enough, Toddy, stop it. If you keep this up, someone could die.â Lyn quickly intervened when she saw the situation was getting out of hand.
âHmph! He deserved it. Heâs just a bully!â Toddy, still angry, kicked a few more times before finally walking away.
âMr. Rhys, Mr. Adler, this is Toddy,â Lyn said.
âNice to meet you.â Dustin nodded with a faint smile.
âHmph! Who told you to get involved?â
Toddy looked hostile. âHuh?â Dustin was baffled when he heard that. He wondered if Toddy had lost his mind.
âToddy, whatâs wrong with you? Mr. Rhys was just trying to help us,â Lyn explained immediately. âHelp us? Do I need their help? Even if they didnât intervene, I could handle those punks!â Toddy boasted, crossing his arms.
He finally had a chance to shine, but someone had stolen his thunder, so he was unhappy. âIf you could handle it, you wouldnât have let a single slap knock you out,â Cornelius suddenly chimed in.
âYou ⦠You know nothing!â Toddyâs face stiffened, and he became agitated. He retorted, âDo you think that bastard could have hurt me if he hadnât sneaked up on me? Let me tell you the truth. Theyâd be no match for me in a fair fight, even if they teamed up!â
âThatâs right! Toddy is incredibly skilled and powerful. He could easily handle a hundred opponents!â the other Moonlight Reverence disciples agreed.
Toddy was the strongest disciple in the Moonlight Reverence, second only to their mentor. He had once defeated over ten thugs with his bare hands. The locals also viewed him as a hero, which added to his fame.
âSneak attack? He attacked right in front of you. How can you call that a sneak attack?â Cornelius replied calmly.
He couldnât accept that someone would have such weak skills and refuse to admit it. Such a person wouldnât accomplish much.
âI made my point, but the guy suddenly attacked me. Isnât that a sneak attack? Are you going senile?â Toddy retorted, glaring at Cornelius.
âHuh? Iâm going senile?â Corneliusâ face darkened. How dare a talentless thrash who hadnât even reached the divine level insult him?
âWhat? If you have a problem, we can settle this with a spar. Iâd like to see what youâre made of?â Toddy challenged Cornelius. If he couldnât even handle an old man like Cornelius, he might as well eat his shoe.
âYeah! You guys doubted Toddyâs strength, didnât you? Letâs settle it on the battle ring if you have the guts!â the other Moonlight Reverence disciples goaded Cornelius.
âSir Rhys, Iâm beginning to lose patience.â Cornelius took a deep breath. He showed visible signs of losing his temper. After all, Toddy and the group seemed to underestimate him.
âHeh! Are you afraid to accept the challenge?â Toddy sneered disdainfully. He added, âIf you donât have the guts, donât act tough in front of me. Otherwise, youâll only humiliate yourselves. Remember, donât try to provoke me because you canât handle the wrath of a future grandmaster!â
