An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1253
âHey! Stop spouting nonsense! I didnât do anything! It has nothing to do with me!â
In the face of the crowdâs accusations, Kate was exasperated. âIâm warning you! If you accuse me again, Iâll beat all of you up!â
Naturally, as the matter involved her life, she would never admit her involvement. She couldnât let herself die in vain.
âKate Harmon! Stop messing around! If you donât confess, none of us will survive!â
âThatâs right! It is your crime! Why must you push the blame onto us?â The Harmon family members grew agitated. They never expected Kate to be so shameless and unapologetic in her lies. Everyone knew that the situation was already beyond redemption. There was no saving for the mastermind behind it all.
If Kate confessed to her crimes, she would at least be able to save the Harmons. However, she wasnât only unwilling to admit it; she was trying to implicate the entire family. What a malicious woman!
âKate! The evidence is as clear as day. Itâs not something you can argue your way out of! âHurry up and admit to your crimes!â Arthur couldnât help but raise his voice at her.
It would be troublesome if her refusal to confess dragged the Grants into the mud. âJust admit to your crimes. That way, your family can live,â Tyler said coldly.
âTylerâ¦â Kate was stunned and in disbelief as if she had been struck by lightning. She had expected Tyler to back her up, but his words made her lose all hope. She was truly done for this time if even Tyler wouldnât help her.
âKate Harmon, everyone is saying it was you. Are you still going to evade responsibility?â Dustin advanced with a murderous glare.
âNo⦠It wasnât me⦠I didnât⦠It has nothing to do with meâ¦â The color drained from Kateâs face as she frantically shook her head, denying it repeatedly. However, her explanations at that moment sounded feeble.
âWho was it then, if not you?â Dustin asked imposingly. âItâs ⦠Itâsâ¦â Kateâs desperate gaze swept across the room. In the end, she made a decision.
She pointed at Trent and cried out, âIt was my father! He instructed me to do everything! Heâs behind all of this!â
âMe?â Trent was stunned at being singled out. He had been thinking of ways to save his daughter. But the next thing he knew, his daughter had pinned the blame on him. She shifted all responsibility onto his shoulders.
For a moment, he was at a loss for words. âYouâre saying that Trent is the true mastermind?â Dustin raised an eyebrow.
âThatâs right! It was my father! He planned all of this!
âHe had me kidnap Natasha. I was just following his orders! I donât know anything!â Kate quickly threw the blame on someone else.
The fear of death had overridden any sense of familial loyalty. She simply wanted to find a scapegoat and survive. âKateâ¦â Trent was about to say something when Kate cut him off.
âDad, just admit you did it! Itâs all your fault. You planned everything. âDonât try to argue anymore. Donât drag me into this mess!
âIâm still young. I donât want to die!
âDad! Iâm begging you, just admit it! If you donât die, I wonât be able to live!â By the end of it, she was sobbing inconsolably.
Her eyes were filled with a mix of pleading and sorrow. She knew her father was the only person who could help her now. As long as her father confessed to the crime and took on the blame for her, she would be able to live.
