An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1270
âThatâs right! I support Natasha becoming the leader of the family! Her Immortunol is making great profit, and sheâs the familyâs only hope of recovering!â
A senior member of the family stood up in support of Natasha.
âDesperate times call for desperate measures. Thereâs no one more suited to be the family head than Natasha! I agree with having her as the new head!â
âNatasha is exceedingly smart. Iâm sure sheâll be able to restore the family to its former glory! I support her, too!â
âMr. Harmon Senior is right! We all support your suggestion!â Most of the Harmons agreed with Andrewâs suggestion. The few voices who doubted his suggestion were quickly drowned out. Hence, Natasha was quickly appointed as the new head of the family.
âNatasha, everyone is supportive and approves of you becoming the familyâs new leader. What do you think about it? âAndrew asked.
âIâm not sure, Grandfather.â Natasha shook her head. Her father had just passed recently. It was natural that she wasnât in the mood to take his place.
âNatasha, I know appointing you as the new family head now will be hard on you. But you must get yourself together.
âWith great power comes great responsibility. Iâm sure your father would not like to see the family falling apart now that heâs gone.
âItâs time you take up the responsibility,â Andrew said, concerned.
âI-â Natasha opened her mouth to say something but found that she had none. âWith great power comes great responsibility? What rubbish is that?â An authoritative voice sounded by the door.
Everyone looked over to see a well- dressed man with white hair on his head. He strode in with his hands behind his back. Behind him, a troop of men followed.
âHah! If the Harmon family is going down, thatâs on you! Do not drag my granddaughter into this, or Iâll make you sorry!!!
The old man had a strong, commanding presence. But his attitude garnered a lot of displeasure from the Harmons. A youngster from the Harmon family slammed his hand on the table as he roared, âHey! Who are you, you old thing?
âHow dare you run your mouth with us, Harmons? Do you have a death wis-â
He had barely finished speaking when one of the old manâs servants rushed forward and slapped the youngster. The servant had a hunched back.
With a loud, crisp smack, the youngster was sent flying. He fell to the ground lifelessly and passed out on the spot.
âHow dare you!â
âThatâs too much!â
The Harmons stood up furiously, some slamming their hands on the table at the sight. The Harmon family might not be as great as before, but they wouldnât let others bully them.
âGuards! Capture them!â an elder of the Harmon family ordered. âStop it! Stop it right there, all of you!â
Andrew was shocked by what was happening and immediately stopped the Harmons from acting rashly. Then, he hurried over to the well- dressed old man and bowed deeply.
In a loud and clear voice, he said, â Andrew Harmon at your service, Your Lordship, Duke of Lachshire!â
âWhat? Duke?â
When they heard how Andrew had addressed the old man, a clamor broke out among the Harmons. Those who had been rude to the old man froze on the spot, fear on their faces.
