An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1291
âMr. Larkspur, itâs been a while. Why are you so mad? Maybe I can make you some tea to calm your nerves.â
Brooke, Dustin, and Harper walked down the stairs, noting the chaos in the medical center. Brookeâs brow furrowed, but he quickly composed himself.
âHey, Dr. Busch, I see youâve decided to show up. I thought you were turning into a chicken,â Ziggy smirked, crossing his legs.
âI donât think I did anything to offend you. It isnât the best way to handle things by causing a scene,â Brooke calmly replied.
âIâm here to get medical treatment. Are you saying Iâm not welcome as a patient here at Harmony Healers?â Ziggy provoked.
âIf youâre here for treatment, I would be delighted to have you. But Iâm afraid, Mr. Larkspur, you are not just here for the treatment,â Brooke replied.
âEnough of this; letâs talk about my treatment now.â Ziggy was unbuttoning his shirt to reveal a festering wound on his abdomen. He pointed at the wound. âDr. Busch, you promised me your golden salve would heal me last time.
âBut now itâs not healing, and itâs getting worse. How are you going to fix this?â
âMr. Larkspur, the medicine I prescribed is specifically for external injuries. It shouldnât be making your condition worse.
âI think youâre mistaken,â Brooke responded composedly. He knew Ziggy was deliberately causing trouble by aggravating his wound.
âMistake? You were the one who treated the wound and sold me the medicine. âIf Harmony Healers wants to deny responsibility for my wound, I wonât go easy on you!â Ziggy raised his voice.
âDonât beat around the bush. Just tell me what you want, Mr. Larkspur,â Brooke said with a stern face.
âVery well!â Ziggy jumped up and held two fingers. âYou have two choices: cure my wound or hand over Harmony Healers to me. Simple, isnât it?â
âNonsense!â Finally, Harper couldnât hold back any longer.
âMr. Larkspur, your wound was clearly self-inflicted. And now youâre trying to blame Harmony Healers for it. Youâre despicable!â
âAh, Miss Busch,â Ziggy said, rubbing his chin and looking at her seductively.
âItâs been a while since I last saw you, and you look even more gorgeous, especially those lovely legs. âI wonder, Miss Busch, do you have a boyfriend? How about a little date?â
âZiggy! Youâre out of line!â Brooke said, stepping in front of Harper and shielding her from Ziggyâs gaze. His granddaughter was his top priority, and nobody was allowed to mess with her.
âOut of line?â Ziggy scoffed at this, pointing at the wound on his abdomen.
âDr. Busch, arenât you trying to scam me by turning me into this? Is that not out of line?â
âI know what youâre up to, and I will never sell you Harmony Healers.
âIt is my lifeâs work. You can forget about it!â Brooke declared firmly. Ziggyâs smile faded, and his eyes hardened. âBrooke Busch! Donât you dare defy me like that just because you are a âskilled doctor.â
âIf you continue to be stubborn, you be in for some rough treatment!â âNo matter what tactics you use, we wonât yield, even if it leads to a confrontation!â Brookeâs tone was resolute.
âA confrontation? You may not have the skills to pull it off.â Ziggy scoffed.
âBesides, my patience is wearing thin. Donât push me further, or your granddaughter could be time.â gone in no âYou-!â Brooke was exasperated.
People like Ziggy were thugs and ruffians that would go to any lengths to get what they wanted. They would use all kinds of dirty tricks, and there was no way to protect yourself.
Brooke had lived long enough not to fear death, but what of his granddaughter?
What about the disciples of Harmony Healers?
