An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1301
âThe medicineâs not for sale?â Cody. frowned in disappointment. At first, heâd thought heâd found a treasure, but now he was learning about serious side effects. He couldnât help but ask skeptically, âMr. Rhys, are you serious? Ziggy seemed completely fine earlier.â
Dustin remained calm as he replied, â The side effects wonât show immediately but in about half an hour.â
Cody continued to ask, âIs there any way to reduce the side effects of the ointment, even if itâs only 50% effective?â He hoped a milder version might have fewer side effects. Dustin shook his head. âNot at the moment.â
He knew both Zion and Cody had questionable motives. Plus, he had no intention of sharing the Dew Balm formula. It could be misused for profit and potentially harm people. After all, he didnât trust Zion and Cody.
âItâs alright if the ointment isnât perfect right now. If you give me the formula, Iâll work on improving it. Once itâs better, Iâll give you 50% of the profits,â Cody proposed.
Cody was Brookeâs senior student skilled in pharmacology. He believed he could enhance the Dew Balm formula. But Dustin refused, âMr. Ostrower, this formula has problems and canât be improved. You should forget about it.â
âHow can we know that when we havenât even tried it yet?â Cody insisted.
âMany have tried and failed. No matter how much research they did, it was futile,â Dustin explained, shaking his head.
âHey! Youâre being a bit stingy, donât you think? Iâm just asking for the formula, and youâre coming up with all sorts of excuses not to share it. Itâs frustrating.â
Harperâs frustration boiled over. âJust because others couldnât improve the formula doesnât mean Cody canât. He is more of a medical genius than you are, and heâs offering you a chance to make a lot of money. Donât be so arrogant!â
Cody put on a serious expression, â Harper, keep it down.â
âDonât be too lenient on him, Cody. We shouldnât indulge someone like him. Otherwise, heâll become too arrogant!â Harper retorted, placing her hands on her hips.
âMr. Rhys, your caution is understandable, given our recent encounter,â Cody changed the subject thoughtfully.
âBut now that youâre part of Harmony Healers, we are friends. Canât you trust me with this friendship?â
âThatâs right! Cody is generous, compassionate, and reliable. If you entrust him with the formula, itâll be in good hands,â one student said.
âYes! Cody comes from a well-known family and is a pharmacology expert. Heâll undoubtedly enhance the prescriptions. Together, we can make a lot of money!â another added.
âMr. Rhys, this is a rare opportunity. You may not need the formula, but if you entrust it to Cody, itâll be put to good use!â a third one said. At this moment, the Harmony Healersâ students collectively urged Dustin.
Cody had a well-known reputation for his generosity. They believed that if hecould enhance the formula, everyone would benefit. Thus, they readily supported his request.
âLike I said, this prescription is a family heirloom and will not be sold,â Dustin calmly asserted.
âMr. Rhys, please donât take this the wrong way. Iâm not buying it; Iâm borrowing it. These extraordinary formulas shouldnât be hidden away. Instead, they should be shared to help people. Itâs our duty as doctors!â Cody passionately argued.
âWell said! Cody is truly compassionate!â Harper gazed at Cody with admiration. She found men as kind and principled as Cody to be a rare find.
