An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1307
âItâs been a long time since Iâve written anything, and I feel a little out of practice. I think Iâll pass.â Dustin shook his head.
His handwriting could easily be recognized by those knowledgeable in the field. He wasnât exactly afraid of having his identity exposed now. But it would be a headache if certain people found out.
âOut of practice? Hmph! Just admit you canât!â Harper scoffed. âYou clearly lack the skill, yet you insist on showing off. Itâs truly nauseating!â
âAlright. Calm down, both of you. Many people are watching. We donât want to turn into a joke.â Brooke tried to diffuse the situation. While Dustin was undoubtedly skilled, criticizing the Kirinâs calligraphy was a bit presumptuous.
âHmph! If anyoneâs embarrassing themselves, itâs this guy! How dare he insult the Kirinâs work? Does he think us fans are a bunch of pushovers?â Harper glared at Dustin.
âAlright, enough of this. Itâs just a piece of calligraphy. Thereâs no need to bring down the mood for it,â Cody said.
Then, he added, âIâve already reserved a place upstairs. Thereâs a collection of rare and exotic treasures on that floor thatâll guarantee to amaze you all.
âMoreover, Regal Court is hosting a special event tonight. If luck is on our side, we might even get a delightful surprise.â Codyâs words immediately grabbed everyoneâs attention.
âA surprise? What kind of surprise?â Harper asked curiously.
âFrom what Iâve heard, Regal Court hosts a literary event every three months. The competitions revolved around poetry and songs.
âAnyone who stands out in this event has a chance to win a special prize prepared by Regal Court.
âThat is why, during these times, Regal Court tends to get crowded. Luckily, I had reserved a place early through my connections. If not, we might not even have a seat today,â Cody said enthusiastically.
He had spent a huge amount on reservations to secure seats upstairs. It was all in anticipation of this literary event.
After all, gaining entry into Regal Court typically required wealth or influence. That made it the best opportunity to make connections with influential VIPS.
âA literary event? Thatâs wonderful!â
After hearing the news, Harperâs excitement grew. âIâve been studying poetry y and songs since I was a kid. I can finally showcase my skills!â
Her grandfather had forced her to read tons of books since she was young. As a result, she had memorized a lot of literary material.
In her school days, she was known as the gifted prodigy with a way with words. Now, she finally had the chance to relive her past glory.
âCody, you mentioned that there was a prize for winning. Do you have any idea what it might be?â Caldwell asked.
âAnything Regal Court prepares will be nothing ordinary,â Cody said. With a smile, he explained, âIf Iâm not mistaken, the prize would be selected from the Treasure Pavilion.
âThe Treasure Pavilion contains an exclusive collection of rare and exotic treasures handpicked by the owner of Regal Court. Anything picked from there is truly priceless!â
âPriceless?â Caldwellâs eyes lit up, and his excitement made his breath quicken. The rest of the Harmony Healers students were excited as well. They thought about how rich they could become if they were to get such a priceless treasure.
It was an unexpected surprise that a simple dinner would give them such a remarkable opportunity. âHarper, weâre counting on you later. If you can outshine the competition, we can bask in your glory.â
âExactly! If you win the treasure, Harmony Healers will become famous too!â
Many of the students placed their hopes on Harper. They were aware that Harper was exceptionally intelligent and gifted. She stood out from the rest in whatever she pursued.
Especially when it came to poetry and songs, her upbringing had honed her skills to a high level of expertise that she could rival some experts.
âDonât worry. When I claim first place and win that treasure, Iâll definitely treat everyone to a meal!â Harper declared with confidence.
âHarper, donât get too arrogant. Remember, thereâs always someone better out there,â Brooke offered a timely reminder.
