Chapter 1320 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âCody, what do you mean by that?â Harper was upset. âWho does he think he is? Can he even be compared to me? Are you telling me youâd rather trust an outsider?â
âJust shut your mouth!â Cody yelled at her. âI trusted you twice, but you got it wrong both times. How am I supposed to trust you again?â
âI-â Harper was rendered speechless. Her face reddened. Cody was like a brother to her. He had never raised his voice against her. What had gotten into him today?
âHarper, this is not childâs play. You made a bet with Lana. If we lose, weâll lose Harmony Healers!â
Cody softened his tone and said sincerely, âBesides, your talent lies in the literary arts. Your strength is not in riddles. You should let Dustin give it a try.â
He was determined to win. He couldnât let Harmony Healers and Enchanting Elegance fall into someone elseâs hands. Allowing someone else to act recklessly was also out of the question.
âFine, Iâll give him a chance to showcase his skills. But once he answers incorrectly, Iâm stepping in again. That way, you might still have a chance.â Harper pouted but eventually gave in.
âNo problem.â Cody let out a sigh of relief and looked at Dustin again. âDustin, why donât you share your answer with us? What is it?â
âA building that has the most stories with floors to climb and dreams to pursue should be a library,â Dustin said calmly.
âA library⦠That makes so much sense! âCody thought about that answer for a while before a delighted smile spread across his face.
âWhat a brilliant answer!â Harperâs Omnisphere Tower was just unconvincing. He immediately knew that library was the correct answer.
âCody, donât get too excited. Who knows if this is the real answer? What if heâs wrong?â Harper poured cold water on the enthusiasm.
âThen Iâll happily admit that Iâm wrong!â Cody suddenly stood up and proclaimed loudly, âMr. Jankow, I have the answer to the third riddle!â
âMr. Ostrower, arenât you a little too hasty? Youâve gotten two answers wrong. If you get a third one wrong, itâll be embarrassing,â Lana suddenly said.
âHe just wonât back down, huh.â
âItâs one thing to have no skills, but heâs always eager to show off. Isnât he embarrassed?â
âHmph! What a bunch of clowns trying to steal attention.â
Many attendees started mocking Cody. He should have known when to stop after making multiple mistakes. Instead, he kept rushing to be the first to answer and always got it wrong. He was only humiliating himself.
âMr. Ostrower, this riddle is a little tricky. Would you like to think about it again?â Keanu suggested kindly.
âNo need. Iâm extremely confident this time,â Cody declared.
âOh? What is your answer, Mr. Ostrower?â Keanu asked.
âA library!â Cody said boldly. âMr. Jankow, is my answer correct?â
