Upon hearing this, Pabloâs smile faded, and his expression hardened.
âMr. Rhys, I canât bear to be rejected again. I have been patient long enough, so donât disappoint me,â he warned menacingly.
âDustin, you need to be wise. It is a privilege to earn Mr. Hansâs favor; stubbornness could only get you in trouble,â Cody cautioned.
âEnough with the chit-chat!â Pablo roared, growing impatient. âI want that Dew Balm formula today! Give it to me, and youâll be safe and get a lot of cash.â
âWhat if I say no?â Dustin asked.
âWhat if you say no? Hmph!â Pablo sneered, clapping his hands together. The VIP room door burst open, and about 40 to 50 gangsters in suits came storming in. They looked like a bunch of wolves.
âKid, this is my territory. A word from me will determine your fate,â Pablo said, glaring at Dustin.
âIf you donât give up that formula today, you may never leave this place.â
âMr. Hans, I donât want any trouble. But if you continue to be stubborn, Iâm pretty sure Iâll end up wrecking your Golden Balcony,â Dustin warned coldly.
At first, Pablo looked surprised. Then he burst out laughing as if heâd just heard the funniest joke in the world.
âOh, my God! Is this kid insane? Is he challenging Mr. Hans?â
âHeâs got guts for a rookie!â
A few guests left their gambling session, interested in what was happening. âIgnorant fool!â Cody sneered at Dustin. Harper crossed her arms with a wry smile playing across her lips.
âKid, do you know what youâre talking about?â Pabloâs expression turned icy cold after his laughter. âDo you think I wouldnât dare to shoot you now?â He pulled his gun out of its holster and aimed it at Dustinâs temple.
Dustin didnât flinch and calmly said, â Mr. Hans, your gun is still on safety.â
âYouâ¦â Pabloâs eye twitched.
He was about to take aim when a sultry, seductive voice filled the room. âMr. Hans, why are you so angry? And why did you bring out your gun?â
A woman in a shimmering silver mini skirt and crystal high heels sashayed into the room.
Her fiery red lips were dazzling, and her figure was striking. Her chestnut brown wavy hair spilled over her shoulders.
She walked elegantly in long black stockings that would make a manâs heart skip a beat. She was carrying a delicate designer handbag in one hand and a cigarette in the other.
Her lips were curled into a seductive smile, radiating a charming and alluring aura.
âLana Camron?â Harper frowned as soon as she saw her. It seemed like an odd coincidence to meet this bothersome woman here.
