Chapter 1383 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
The next morning, Dustin sat cross- legged in a guest room at the Welch residence, deep in meditation. A brisk knock on the door abruptly shattered his peaceful moment.
âWhoâs there?â Dustin asked as he slowly opened his eyes. âDr. Rhys, itâs me, Feiver. Iâve brought your breakfast,â a familiar voice from the other side replied.
âAlright,â Dustin replied, getting up to answer the door. Fifteen-year-old Feiver, a humble orphan and a housekeeper in the Welch family, stood outside with a finely crafted food container.
He had been taking care of Dustin since his arrival the day before. He was always ready with a cup of tea and a friendly word.
âThank you for your hard work,â Dustin said, stepping aside to welcome Feiver inside.
âNo trouble at all,â Feiver responded with a respectful nod. He placed the food container on the table and unveiled the morning meal.
âDr. Rhys, todayâs breakfast is quite a feast,â he explained as he revealed each dish.
âThe first dish is a Spicy Shrimp Cocktail.
âThe second is a Savory Beef Stew.
âThe third is a Sautéed Mushrooms.
âThe fourth is Seafood Scampi.
âThe fifth is a Crispy Chicken Feast.
âThe sixth is a Sizzling Meatball Platter.
âThe seventh is Chateaubriand Steak.
âAnd lastly, the eighth dish is a Creamy Fish Roe Chowder.
âAll the dishes are set. Please take your time and enjoy the meal,â Feiver announced. Dustin chuckled and said, âWhy such a grand breakfast? A simple full English breakfast would do.â
âDr. Rhys, you are a respected guest of the Welch family. Mr. Welch himself insisted on providing you with the finest hospitality,â Feiver explained.
âOh, speaking of which, how is Mr. Welch Senior? Did he regain consciousness this morning?â Dustin asked out of the blue.
âEarlier today, Mr. Welch Senior briefly regained consciousness. Thanks to your miraculous treatment, his condition has improved significantly. The Welch family is deeply grateful,â Feiver reported.
âExcellent news,â Dustin replied. As he turned his attention to the table full of dishes, Dustin seemed overwhelmed. âFeiver, have you had breakfast yet?â
Feiver shook his head and said, âNot yet.â Dustin invited Feiver warmly. âWell then, letâs eat together. I doubt I can finish all these dishes by myself.â
Feiver hesitated, waving his hand dismissively. âI couldnât possibly. These dishes were prepared specifically for you, Dr. Rhys.
âAs a mere housekeeper, I donât have the privilege to partake in such a meal.â Dustin smiled and reassured him, âNo need to be so formal with me. Please, have a seat and join me.â
âBut, Dr. Rhys, this goes against the rules. If anyone finds out, I might get in trouble,â Feiver protested, keeping his head down. Dustin brushed it off with a casual remark, âWhoâs gonna know unless someone spills the beans?â
âStill, Iâm just a lowly housekeeper. How could I possibly have a meal with you?â Feiver remained timid.
Dustinâs tone grew displeased as he retorted, âWhat? Itâs just a meal, and youâre not showing appreciation?â
Feiver stammered, âN-no! Itâs not that With a hint of sternness in his expression and an assertive tone, Dustin insisted, âDonât overthink it; sit down!â
Feiver hesitated, fearing the repercussions, but he dared not disobey. With great reluctance, he sat down.
âThatâs the spirit,â Dustin said, his tone warm and encouraging.
