Chapter 1395 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âWhat? Prisoned for life?â Brookeâs face paled, and he broke out in a cold sweat. Eleanorâs threat had made him panic since he also doubted the cardâs authenticity. He didnât want Dustin to get into trouble because of him!
âDustin, you need to put that away before it gets you into trouble!â Brooke said in a hushed voice as he tugged at his sleeve. Destroying the fake card in time should help avoid any potential problems.
âRhys! Youâve got some nerve! You must be tired of living if you dared forge a Royal Empire Card!â Ezraâs hostile gaze was fixed on Dustin.
âDustin, Iâm giving you a chance to make amends. As long as you admit to your mistake, destroy that card, and leave this place, Iâll pretend like nothing ever happened.â Eleanor held her head high, and her tone was condescending.
âWhy should I admit to a mistake? Youâre the ones too blind to recognize an authentic card. If you donât believe me, we can always take a trip to Langford Bank.â Dustin was unfazed. Austin had given him the card as a gift before his departure. It couldnât be fake.
âDustin! Thatâs enough!â Eleanorâs expression darkened. She rebuked him, âIâve seen through your act, so why are you still being so stubborn? Iâm giving you a chance to turn back. If you continue like this, donât blame me for taking action!â
âWhat? Are you going to have me arrested?â Dustin raised his eyebrows slightly.
âIf thereâs a need for it, I will!â
Eleanor spoke with self-righteousness, âI wonât just stand by and watch as you go astray. Perhaps youâll only learn your lesson and correct your ways if you are sent to prison.
âIâm doing this for your own good.â
âFor my own good? Hahaha! That sounds really grating to my ears.â
Dustin sneered. âEleanor Welch, donât you find yourself incredibly hypocritical? Clearly, youâre the one causing harm. Yet you insist on making grandiose claims and putting on a virtuous facade.
âYour fake persona is making me sick.â
âH-How dare you!â His words irritated Eleanor.
âDustin! Iâve shown you remarkable patience and leniency. Youâd better not push your luck!â
âBastard! Iâm ordering you to apologize to Eleanor right now! Or you wonât like the consequences!â Ezra yelled.
âWhat? Youâre going to get physical? Go ahead and try.â Dustin showed no fear. âYou son of a bitch!â Ezraâs anger reached its peak. He was about to take action when Eleanor raised her hand to stop him.
In a lowered voice, she told him, âHold on, there are many eyes here. Youâll only hurt our reputation if you hit him in public.â
âAre we just going to let him go, then?â Ezra frowned, somewhat unwilling.
âStay calm. To achieve our objectives, we must keep a cool head.â Eleanor remained surprisingly composed.
âSouth City is our territory with everything under our control. Dealing with a nobody like him would be a piece of cake.â
âFine, for your sake, Iâll let this man roam freely for another day.â Ezraâs expression softened. The fire had attracted a significant crowd to the area. Many of them were recording videos and taking photos.
Acting out could have caused problems if it were exposed. It was better to be patient and seek retaliation later. âIf you two are too afraid to take action, then please leave,â Dustin said indifferently.
âAlso, Iâve bought Harmony Healers. Feel free to come at me going forward.â
âBastard! You really intend on going against us? Fine! Letâs see how long you last!â Ezra smirked.
âDustin. Iâm giving you one last chance. Apologize to me and hand over Harmony Healers. âThen Iâll persuade Ezra to let you off the hook. What do you say?â Eleanor put on a generous front.
