Chapter 1429 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âAlright⦠heâs here. Good luck,â Lana said with a mischievous smile. She subtly jutted her chin in a certain direction.
Dustin followed her gaze and saw a young man dressed in a classy suit making his way to the second floor. With his long hair and a folding fan in hand, he exuded an old-school charm. It reminded Dustin of classic movie stars.
Surrounded by a group of bodyguards and attendants, it was clear that this guy was the center of attention. Anyone attempting to get closer was swiftly blocked. There was no doubt that these bodyguards meant business.
âHow about it? He looks pretty good, right? If youâre into that sort of thing, you wonât be at a loss, either.â Lana chuckled, covering her mouth.
The excitement in her eyes couldnât be concealed. The prospect of a showdown between two men really thrilled her.
She was eager to find an opportunity to sneak a film and enjoy it to the fullest. Dustin couldnât help but roll his eyes at Lanaâs playful antics. âCould you please be a bit more serious, Lana?â
But Lana just grinned, her eyes filled with excitement. âHey, business meetings can be fun too, you know.â
Dustin, trying to maintain his professionalism, retorted, âJust so weâre clear, Iâm not here to sell myself.â
Lanaâs response was a mischievous wink. âWell, it might not come to that if you can convince Bo. Who knows, he might be interested in what youâre offering.â
Dustin raised an eyebrow. âAre you trying to get me into trouble, Lana?â
Lana feigned innocence, but her eyes sparkled mischievously. âOh, come on, Dustin. Iâm a perfectly respectable lady. Iâm not into any of that stuff.â
Dustin let out a resigned sigh. âAlright, Iâm going to go and feel out the situation.â
Taking a deep breath, he drained his teacup. Then, he stood up and made his way toward the private room where Bo was located.
Inside Boâs private room, a squad of bodyguards maintained a tight security perimeter. They ensured that no strangers could get close.
Even the servers delivering food and tea were required to stop at the door. The Dawson family had clearly taken every precaution to eliminate potential risks.
âWho are you? Stop right there!â one of the bodyguards demanded sternly.
As Dustin approached the door, he was abruptly stopped by a wall of imposing bodyguards. These beefy guards were like human walls. They blocked Dustinâs line of sight and prevented him from seeing what was happening inside.
Dustin remained calm. He asked politely, âIs Mr. Dawson inside?â
The bodyguards remained vigilant, ready to react to any unusual movements. âSo what if he is? Mr.
Dawson doesnât meet with outsiders. Please leave immediately.â
Theyâd draw their weapons at the slightest hint of trouble from Dustin. âNo need to be so uptight. I mean no harm,â he reassured them.
âCould you please tell him that Iâm here to discuss a business matter? I believe he would be interested,â Dustin requested, attempting to get his message across.
âBusiness?â The bodyguards shared a brief glance before scrutinizing Dustinâs appearance.
He was a good-looking man, the type Bo usually liked. However, despite his looks, coming from an unknown source might not work in his favor.
âMeeting Mr. Dawson requires a formal request and identity verification. Once weâve confirmed your identity, Mr. Dawson will decide whether to see you.â
Dustin furrowed his brow, a bit frustrated. âIs it really that complicated?â
âComplicated?â The guard scoffed. â Every day, countless people request to see him. If you find it too bothersome, youâre welcome to leave.â
What was this man thinking? The Dawson family was top-tier, and Bo was the sole heir. It wasnât just a matter of showing up unannounced and meeting up.
âPlease inform Mr. Dawson that I have important business,â Dustin said, making a polite gesture.
