Chapter 1447 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
Dustin felt pressured by Simonâs scrutinizing gaze. However, he had already anticipated a situation like this and showed no outward signs of discomfort.
âMy Lord, Iâve long heard of your name, but weâve never met. Perhaps you find me familiar because I possess a rather unremarkable appearance,â Dustin explained humbly.
Over the past decade, his height, appearance, and temperament significantly changed. Even his closest friends from the past wouldnât recognize him at first glance.
âIs that so?â Simon looked him up and down again.
He then replied impassively, âPerhaps that is true.â
âGrandfather, Dustin is an exceptional man. He excels in both the literary and martial arts and has outstanding medical expertise. He has also helped me out many times in the past.
âIt would be difficult to find a young talent as outstanding as he is in all of Oakvale,â Natasha introduced Dustin proudly. She was always eager to highlight the merits of her man.
âHaha. Donât you think youâre exaggerating a little too much, sweetheart?â Simon shook his head with a smile.
âOakvale is full of talents. While this young man is capable, he still has a long way to go to match the top-tier geniuses.â
âGrandfather, I know you might be skeptical now, but youâll understand soon,â Natasha said with a mysterious smile.
She didnât elaborate because she believed some things had to be seen to be believed. She was confident that Dustin would pleasantly surprise her grandfather one day.
âAlright, letâs take our seats,â Simon suggested. They sat down gracefully while his guards positioned themselves on either side, remaining vigilant for potential disturbances.
âSir Dante, you can begin now,â Natasha said with a faint smile, looking expectant.
âBegin?â The corner of Danteâs eyes twitched. How were they supposed to begin? Samson had been defeated, and no one else was skilled enough for a one-on- one duel with Dustin. Unless Declan made it in time, they would suffer a great loss today!
âWhatâs wrong, Sir Dante? Didnât the Fallons arrange this duel? Why the hesitation? You wouldnât want my grandfather to arrive excitedly and leave in disappointment, would you?â Natasha teased.
âWellâ¦â .â Danteâs expression froze, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
They never expected a minor duel to catch the interest of someone as influential as Simon. The current situation had slipped beyond his control. With no room for retreat, he had no choice but to continue.
âWhoâs willing to duel with Dustin?â Dante turned to the disciples of the Fallon family.
The disciples exchanged uneasy glances, looking hesitant. Who else would be a match for Dustin if even Samson was defeated? They would just be humiliating themselves if they went up now.
âWhat? Are the Fallon men all cowards? âDante frowned slightly.
Losing was one thing, but fearing the duel was another. The Fallons hated defeat but hated cowardice more.
âDexter! You go!â Dante pointed to Dexter, who was behind him. He didnât want the situation to drag out. He intended to find a scapegoat to deal with the situation.
âWhat?â Dexter was left dumbfounded, his eyes wide with apprehension.
Dustin had just given him a good beating a few days ago, and now he had to face him again? How was that fair? âDonât just stand there! Go, quickly!â
