Chapter 1568 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
Scottâs eyes twitched as he took a few steps back. Acold sweat dripped down his body, and his hair stood on end. At that moment, he finally realized the severity of the situation. Dustinâs strength far exceeded his expectations.
For Dustin to take down the Undead Hexcasters with a single move showed that he wasnât just some divine master but a true grandmaster martial artist! Fuck! How could an unknown kid be this powerful?
âHey, pal, I appreciate your skills. Iâm giving you a chance to rise to the top now.â
Anders, who had been watching coldly, suddenly spoke, âAs long as youâre willing to join me, I can overlook todayâs events.
âNot only that, Iâll get you into the military and give you a high position. From then on, everything will be under your control!â
âWhat?â Scottâs expression changed instantly upon hearing this. He hastily said, âSir Anders, this bastard is a ticking time bomb. Keeping him around would be asking for endless trouble!â
After all, Scott and Dustin had a deep- seated grudge. If Dustin got on Andersâ good side, Scott would be dealing with a much stronger opponent. Obviously, he wasnât too happy about that.
âI know my strength; donât worry too much,â Anders said indifferently. Dustinâs strength had made Anders look at him with more respect. It would be a valuable asset to gain such a talent.
âBut-!â Scott was about to say something when Anders shot him a cold look.
âDo I need to consult you about what I want to do?â
This immediately silenced Scott, who dared not say another word.
âSo, what do you think of my proposal?
âAnders looked back at Dustin.
âIf you wanna negotiate with me, you would have to take care of him first.â Dustin pointed at Scott. Scottâs eyes widened, feeling uneasy. Surely Anders wouldnât come after him for the sake of an outsider?
Anders hummed and narrowed his eyes. âThis condition is a bit too much. I donât know what issues you and Scott have, but Iâm happy to step in and settle your differences.
âFrom now on, you two can be like brothers, supporting each other through thick and thin. What do you think?â
âThis peacekeeper role isnât your thing, âDustin said, shaking his head, his tone still cold.
âScott took my friendâs life. And today, he will pay for it. Nobody can stop me.â
âWhat? You wonât even show me respect?â Anders frowned, displeased.
âSince you found Jadeleaf Manor, you should know who I am. I am picky with the people I want and I donât appreciate being turned down. You better think it over.â
âRhys! Sir Anders really admires you; itâs a blessing to be acknowledged. You shouldnât disrespect him!â Scott shouted, trying to stir things up even more.
He didnât want to see Dustin rising to the top, so he intentionally used his words to stir things up.
Dustin warned, âAnders, I recommend you to stay away from matters that donât concern you, or you might get yourself in trouble.â
âTrouble?â Anders suddenly laughed, his eyes icy.
âIâll give you props for being gutsy, but causing a scene in my territory? You arenât all that!â
âSo, youâre defending him?â Dustin asked.
âYou bet!â Anders declared loudly. âJust so you know, Iâve got Scottâs back. If you step out of line, you wonât be walking out of here in one piece!â
âYou hear that? Lay a finger on me, and youâre done for!â With Anders supporting him, Scott couldnât help but grow confident and become full of himself.
Anders was the God of War in Dragonmarsh and led an army of three hundred thousand. Even if Dustin were a force to be reckoned with, he couldnât hold a candle to Anders.
âWerenât you talking big just a minute ago? Why so quiet now?â
Scott deliberately took a few steps forward, taunting, âCome on! Werenât you itching to take me down? Iâm right here. If youâre feeling brave, give it a shot!â
Dustin stayed silent, face expressionless.
âWhatâs the matter? Youâre too scared to step up? Alright, Iâll come a little closer for you.â Scott took a few more steps forward.
His head was raised high as he sneered at Dustin while beckoning with his finger. âCome on! If youâve got the guts, come over here! Letâs see if you-!
Before he could finish, Dustin suddenly raised his hand, and a brilliant white light burst forth. Like the scythe of the grim reaper, it sliced through Scottâs neck.
