Chapter 1622 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âDustin Rhys, if you insist on going to the monastery, Iâll not stop you. However, please accept this.â As she spoke, Grace took out a golden talisman from her pocket and gave it to Dustin.
The talisman looked very normal and unassuming. However, Dustin could feel a special energy emanating from it. It was very faint yet very fascinating. Yet, when he took a proper look at it, he found nothing.
âThis is a talisman that I got for you. Maybe it could help you in times of need.â Grace explained.
âTalisman?â Dustin raised his eyebrows slightly, and his curiosity was piqued. âWe donât know each other, why would you help me?â
âBecause you canât die. Not now, at least,â Grace sounded serious.
Dustinâs life was very important as it was tied to the fate of Dragonmarsh. If he died in Oakvale, the city would be thrown into chaos.
She didnât want to see this happen. As such, she decided to help Dustin overcome this difficult task. This was the responsibility of the Seers.
âI appreciate your thoughtfulness.â Dustin nodded slightly and received the talisman happily. From their earlier conversation, he could tell that she was probably from the Regal Observatory.
The Regal Observatory was a very mysterious department in Dragonmarsh. The people working in this department were very knowledgeable.
Through divination, they could foretell the future fate of a country. The best part was they could go anywhere they wanted to and eradicate evil!
However, the Regal Observatory would never interfere with common affairs. They wouldnât reveal themselves unless something posed a danger to the fate of Dragonmarsh.
âDustin Rhys, Iâve said and done what I needed to. I really hope that youâll think before you act. Farewell.â
After giving him the talisman, Grace decided not to say anything more and got up to leave. She had done all that she could within her power. The outcome wasnât within her control. 2
âThis way, Ms. Linsor.â Dustin got up to send her to the door, and he watched her leave.
A sudden visit from the Regal Observatory showed the gravity of this matter. It was also a sign of great changes to come. He was getting closer to the truth.
âYour Highness â¦â Cinna walked out of his room at this moment. Compared to before, he had recovered a lot after a few days of meticulous care. He was able to go around on his own freely.
âMr. Shaffer, itâs late. Why are you still up?â Dustin walked toward him and helped him to the couch.
âIâve been sleeping for the past decade. Iâve slept enough. Now, I want to look at this beautiful world that weâre in.â Cinna flashed him a smile.
âYouâve just recovered. You should be resting,â Dustin advised.
âDonât worry about me. Iâm not dying anytime soon,â Cinna replied and suddenly changed the topic. âYour Highness, I heard your conversation with Ms. Linsor. I think sheâs right. You shouldnât take this risk.â
âMr. Shaffer, I know you care about me. Bus, as Iâve said, Iâll get to the bottom of it regardless of the consequences,â Dustin said grimly.
âIâm worried. This trip is very dangerous. If thereâs any accident, I wouldnât be able to explain myself to your father.â Cinna looked troubled.
âNo pain, no gain. Iâve already prepared myself for whatâs coming. You need not worry, Mr. Shaffer.â Dustin smiled.
âSigh ⦠I knew you wouldnât listen to me.â Cinna sighed as he asked again, â When do you plan to go?â
âAs soon as possible. Tomorrow, Iâll go to Quandary Mountain to finally find out the truth!â
