Chapter 1711 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âYour Majesty, forgive me for being direct, but I donât agree with you,â Dustin said. He continued seriously, âWhile it might be normal for you to have multiple wives, in my view, a monogamous marriage is the only way to go.
âNot to mention, a loveless marriage is a dead marriage. I donât wish to put myself or another person in that situation.â
Grace was surprised at Dustinâs words and seemed to look at him in a different light after that.
Most powerful and influential men in Oakvale had multiple women. The remaining minority either had wives from influential backgrounds, making it unwise to cheat publicly, or struggled with impotence.
It was rare to find men like Dustin who had self-control and refrained from engaging in improper relationships.
âLogan, do you not like Grace? Or do you think that she is not worthy of you? âValon probed.
His daughter dominated the Beauty Ranking. She was at the top, whether in terms of looks or talents. Countless young talents across the land aspired to catch a glimpse of her captivating beauty. In theory, a normal man wouldnât refuse such an opportunity.
âMs. Linsor is a beautiful and talented lady. Iâm the one whoâs not worthy of her. Moreover, my heart already belongs to someone else, and it cannot accommodate another,â Dustin said solemnly.
âI didnât expect you to be so loyal. Well, letâs forget about it then. A forced marriage is meaningless. We can discuss this another time.â Valon backed down.
Valon believed that matters like this took time. Logan was only refusing because he hadnât fully noticed his daughterâs charm. Their relationship would develop naturally once they spent more time together.
That was why there was no rush for now.
âThank you, Your Majesty.â Dustin bowed in gratitude.
âLogan, itâs getting late. You should go back and rest. Take your time to think about my request. Iâll await your answer.â
He then turned to Grace. âGrace, please see Logan out for me.â
âYes, Father,â Grace nodded and stood up.
âIâll be taking my leave first, Your Majesty.â After Dustin bowed deeply, he followed Grace out of Galene Palace.
Valon had just taken another sip from his teacup when he started coughing violently again. The clear tea soon turned a bloody red.
âAh⦠If only I had a bit more time. Three years. I just need three years to unite the world.â
Meanwhile, outside Galene Palace, Dustin was following Grace in his attendant attire.
âThanks⦠For earlier,â Grace said after a brief silence.
She still had many things she wanted to accomplish and had no intention of getting married yet. Dustinâs refusal had bought her more time.
âWhy are you thanking me?â Dustin was puzzled.
âItâs nothing. In any case, youâre a good person. If thereâs anything you need help with in the future, just let me know,â Grace said with a smile.
âSince you brought it up, I do have something that I need your help with,â Dustin said without hesitation.
âTell me, then,â Grace replied.
âSince youâre so good at divination, can you predict who will eventually ascend the throne for me?â Dustin asked.
Valon had presented him with a tough question, and he could only pose the question to someone else.
âIâm not God. Did you think I could predict anything I want?â
Grace rolled her eyes and replied somewhat irritably, âBesides, being the nationâs ruler is in accordance with the will of the heavens.
âPredicting the fate of someone who carries that destiny would likely cost half of my life, and itâs not even guaranteed to be accurate.â
âIs it really that difficult?â Dustin asked.
