Chapter 1744 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
It was actually his self-confidence that took a real hit.
âDustin Rhys, let me remind you, a camel that starved to death is still bigger than a horse. The Dragon Guard might have been destroyed, but the remnants of this organization are still powerful. You have to be very careful.â
Grace sounded very serious.
âI know that.â
Dustin nodded.
âI have learned my lesson. Iâll never allow this to happen again.â
âI hope so,â Grace replied.
âAnything special happened in the three days that I was unconscious?â Dustin asked.
âYou reminded me of something!â
Grace suddenly thought of something and exclaimed.
âAccording to the information I received from the royal family, the remnants of Dragon Guard appear to have left Oakvale. They even shut down all of the secret businesses they owned.
âThey left Oakvale? Where did they go? âDustin continued asking.
âI canât say for sure. But according to the information gathered from all over, the Dragon Guard remnants might have moved on to West Lucozia,â Grace replied.
âNo way! I have to go back right now!â
Dustin tried to get up from bed as he spoke. However, he gasped in pain as he accidentally yanked on his wound in haste.
âStop moving around!â
Grace reached out to hold him down.
âYou were gravely injured. Itâs also a penetrating wound. I have already applied Dew Balm on it. Still, you need a few more days to completely recover.â
âThereâs no time for that! The Dragon Guard is very well prepared. They are going to West Lucozia with an ulterior motive. I have to stop them!â Dustin said in a low voice.
âHow are you going to stop them in your current condition?â
Grace frowned and continued, âReagan Judd is not someone you can take on haphazardly. He also has a few trained professionals assisting him. You couldnât even defeat him when you were healthy. How would you do it now that youâre down with a serious injury?â
âEven if I couldnât defeat him, I could at least inform the West Lucozian monarchy so they could prepare themselves,â Dustin replied.
âYou donât have to worry about that. I have already sent your father a secret letter when you were unconscious. I believe that heâs made some arrangements and is all prepared.â
Grace had predicted this. Dustin was a little taken aback when he heard that. He had no idea that Grace was such a conscientious person. She had prepared for everything beforehand. It was no wonder that Valon Linsor was so proud of his daughter.
âYour Highness, thank you for all that youâve done. Nevertheless, I still need to return to West Lucozia.â
Dustin slowly sat up straight. He seemed to have calmed down a little.
âRegardless, West Lucozia is my home. I canât just spectate while thereâs a great impending danger.â
âYou can certainly go home. But, you must do so with a plan. If not, your presence will be the Achilles heel of the West Lucozian monarchy,â Grace warned.
From her understanding, Rufus was someone who cared very deeply for his son. If Dustin was in any danger, heâd lose his mind. If that happened, itâd give the remnants of Dragon Guard an opportunity to defeat him.
âI know that.â
Dustin nodded.
âI will keep a low profile when I return this time. I wonât have contact with anyone from the West Lucozian monarchy as well. Iâll just investigate this covertly. Iâll expose Dragon Guardâs evil plan when the time is right.
âThatâd be best,â Grace agreed.
She continued, âStill, I donât think you can do this alone. Youâll need some help.â
âRufus sent a SWAT team to Oakvale. Theyâre under my command,â Dustin said.
âA SWAT team is not even enough to scratch the surface.â
Grace shook her head.
âHow about this? Iâll go with you. We have quite a few people with special talents and abilities at Regal Observatory. Theyâre all under my command and they should be able to help you.â
