Chapter 1836 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âWhat? Abandon West Lucozia? Thatâs like handing the throne to Julius!â Austinâs expression turned grim.
âAs long as weâre alive, thereâs still a chance. We need to stay resilient. There are opportunities, and we must not lose hope,â Lincon said with heartfelt sincerity.
âThe throne is stolen, the military insignia is taken, and 50 thousand Black Dragon Army soldiers are all following Juliusâ orders. In this situation, where do we have a chance?â Tyrus shook his head.
If he had known it would come to this, he wouldnât have been so greedy by forming an alliance through marriage with the Rhys family. Now, he didnât gain any advantage and only managed to entangle himself in a difficult situation.
âI think Sir Blaze is right. We must prepare for the worst in case of unforeseen events.â Eloise nodded. Though reluctant to admit it, the current situation was highly unfavorable for them.
If the military insignia truly fell into Juliusâs hands, they would lose any chance of turning the tide. Leaving West Lucozia seemed inevitable.
With the esteemed title of the eldest princess of Dragonmarsh, even if she departed West Lucozia for Oakvale, she would undoubtedly find a place of honor. It would spare her son from any undue hardship.
âOf course, donât be too pessimistic. General Steeleâs strength is no less than Elijahâs. If he manages to retrieve the military insignia, we still have hope, âLincon encouraged.
âYouâre right. Nothing is absolute in this world. We havenât lost yet, so donât look so gloomy. Cheer up!â Wyatt declared.
âEveryone, Iâll excuse myself for now.â Austin nodded toward the group and walked out of the hall.
At that moment, he was overwhelmed, and his first thought was of his elder brother, Logan.
To avoid exposing Dustinâs identity, Austin called his brother, who was disguised as a guard, into his room. He then instructed those around him to secure the courtyard and prevent anyone from approaching.
Once confirming it was safe, Dustin was the first to speak up. âAustin, did something happen? I saw a figure flash across the rooftop earlier.â
âYes, something did happen.â Austin nodded, saying solemnly, âElijah is a traitor. He had taken the Marshalâs military insignia and escaped.â
âWhat? The military insignia was stolen? How did this happen?â Dustin furrowed his brow.
âItâs my fault. I was too careless.â Austin didnât hide anything and briefly recounted the events. After hearing that, Dustin nodded thoughtfully. âSo, Elijah was a pawn planted by Julius. Weâve all miscalculated.â
âLogan, what do we do now? Suppose we canât retrieve the military insignia. In that case, the position of the Prince of West Lucozia might fall into Juliusâs hands,â Austin said gravely.
âJulius wonât easily become the prince. âDustin shook his head.
He continued, âLetâs wait and see. If General Steele canât retrieve the military insignia, Iâll personally deal with Julius.â
âHow will you deal with Julius?â Austin asked cautiously.
âI canât reveal the entire plan. Youâll know when the time comes.â Dustin patted Austinâs shoulder with a smile.
He added, âAlright, stop overthinking. These past few days have been exhausting for you. Get some rest and recover. Weâll face this challenge together as brothers.â
âYeah.â Austin nodded heavily, seeming to regain some confidence.
After a few more words of advice, Dustin left the room.
Those words were meant to console Austin, hoping he wouldnât feel too disheartened. As for the plan, Dustin had yet to figure it out.
The unexpected loss of the military insignia had caught them off guard. Even Dustin hadnât anticipated that Elijah would collude with Julius.
When they went to the Marquis Silvercrest residence, Elijah voluntarily confessed without hiding anything, even killing Juliusâs envoy to show his determination.
