Chapter 1868 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
The level of defense in the Dragon Guardâs base was indeed formidable. After passing through the wall, it was a different scene before Julius.
From its size, the base behind the wall could be considered a town. There were all kinds of buildings, such as barracks, training grounds, labs, armories, bunkers, and military airports.
There were also many facilities for the civilians there.
After scanning around, Julius predicted that the military base could accommodate at least 50 to 100 thousand people based on the size of the buildings.
Counting out the logistical personnel, this was still an extremely powerful army! With so many weapons and troops, it could take down a city in no time.
Despite having experienced many ups and downs, Julius couldnât help but secretly be alarmed at that moment.
The Dragon Guard had kept it too well. Without revealing any signs, they had accumulated a substantial military force.
Plus, even West Lucoziaâs spies didnât notice anything.
Suddenly, Julius was a bit regretful of his choice. He wondered if he could escape in one piece if he poisoned Reagan in this base.
It was practically impossible.
âGrand General Rhys, please come with me.â Cinnaâs voice interrupted Juliusâ thoughts.
Then, Cinna led him to the command room located in the middle of the military base. There were very few knew that a military bunker was built deep beneath the command room.
At this moment, Reagan was silently sitting in the command room while wearing a mask. The old version of Titanic was playing on the television before him.
Meanwhile, Reaganâs eyes were glued to the screen.
At this moment, someone knocked on the door.
âCome in,â Reagan answered casually. The door to the command room was opened. Then, Cinna and Julius walked inside one after another.
âGrand General Rhys, we meet again. Come and sit.â Reagan stood up and shook hands with Julius warmly.
âSir Judd, your base is truly well- hidden. Despite being West Lucoziaâs Grand General of the Iron Stallion Cavalry, Iâve never noticed it for so many years.â Julius sighed.
Reagan smiled and answered, âYouâre too kind. Theyâre all left behind by the previous descendants. Iâm only taking it over. Right. Why did you want to meet me so anxiously?â
âTo be honest, Iâm here to ask for help. Today should have been the day that I ascended to the throne. However, I didnât expect such a big change to happen.
âNow, all my efforts have been in vain. As Iâm at witsâ end, I can only come to you for help,â Julius said with a sigh.
âWhat? What exactly happened?â Reagan looked confused.
âRufus didnât die. Heâs still alive and well!â Julius replied lowly.
âWhat? He didnât die? How is that possible? My subordinate gave him an attack that should have taken his life. Thereâs no way heâs still alive.â Reaganâs voice was filled with shock.
âI saw it with my own eyes. Thereâs no way itâs fake. Rufus is a cunning man. After the assassination attempt this time, he deceived all of us by pretending to be dead.
âThis caused our plan to fail and all of our efforts to turn futile,â Julius explained seriously.
