Chapter 1871 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âSir Judd, itâs true that theyâre spies. However, I truly donât know anything about this.
âIâve told you everything that happened these two days. May lightning strike me if I hid anything from you,â Julius promised.
Reagan chuckled at his response.
âDonât be so anxious. Iâm just joking.â Reagan patted his shoulder and smiled.
âOf course, I believe you. The two spies should be under Rufus. He had them secretly follow you as he feared you would run away.â
âRufus is a cunning man that could do anything. Itâs normal for him to have such a plan. Itâs fortunate that you arranged everything properly and managed to find out the spy in time.
âOtherwise, the location of the base would have been revealed,â Julius said in relief.
âWe still donât know how much information did they get. However, West Lucozian monarchy should have already gotten the baseâs location,â Reagan replied calmly.
âThey already know? What should we do? Should we retreat?â Julius raised his eyebrow. With a smile, Reagan replied, âRetreat? Thereâs no need to be frantic. Although the monarchy already knows where our base is, they donât know how many troops and weapons we have.
âTo be honest, with our baseâs defense system, even the West Lucoziaâs strongest Black Dragon Army would require over a hundred thousand troops to break through.
âThereâs a problem, though. Thereâs no way I wouldnât be informed if they mobilized that many troops. Thus, Rufus should be the one worrying, not me.
âHe isnât aware of the situation in our base, so he wouldnât dare to send any troops here. If he sent too few soldiers, heâd be walking right into my trap and incurring unnecessary losses.
âIf he mobilized a large army, I would quickly notice it and retreat in time. In other words, Rufus is powerless against me.
âI can choose if I want to fight or retreat. Iâll fight back if I can and escape if I canât.
âAfter all, itâs just a base. I can build it back in no time. Grand General Rhys, what do you think Rufus is going to do? âIn the end, Reagan shot the question back to Julius.
Julius shook his head helplessly. âWell The location of your base is very strategic. Itâs up to you if you want to fight or retreat. If I were Rufus, I would be at a loss on what to do.â
âThatâs why you donât need to worry at all. You just need to stay here. Once we get rid of the poison in your body, we should increase our influence.1
âWith your influence in West Lucozia, Iâm sure a lot of people will support you, âReagan replied, smiling.
âThatâs true. However, I wonât have any chance if Rufus doesnât die.â Julius sighed.
âDonât worry. Rufus wonât live for long. Although he managed to escape this time by faking his death, he has depleted his energy.
âIn simpler terms, his body is gradually declining. He only managed to prolong his life by relying on his substantial resources and panacea these years.
âNow that panacea has lost its effect, Rufus will get weaker. If heâs lucky, he can live for another half-year. Or else, heâll be dead in days.
âThis means we can rise again without waiting for too long. By that time, youâll be the influential king of West Lucozia. The entire world will be under our control!â Reagan uttered like a psychic.
Julius was thrilled when he heard that. â Fantastic! As long as Rufus dies, Iâll have the chance to make a comeback. I can snatch everything back that I lost!â
âThatâs right. Hereâs to a successful partnership.â Reagan stretched out his hand.
âA successful partnership!â Julius felt rejuvenated.
âBring out the wine! Julius and I wonât be returning until we get drunk!â
