Chapter 1874 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
Rufus smiled indifferently. âWe poisoned Julius. If he wants to live, he needs to listen to us.â
âWhat if he has a way to treat the poison?â Eloise asked. Rufus shook his head and smiled. âIt doesnât matter if he can neutralize the poison. Julius is a smart person. He knows that working with Reagan is like partnering with a lion.
âJulius could act confidently before as he had some influence. However, he has absolutely nothing now. Heâs not on equal footing with Reagan at all. Once Julius loses his value, Reagan will not spare him.
âWeâre different, though. Julius is from the Rhys family and is a blood relative to me. I can still spare his life even if he betrayed us.
âIf he performs well and manages to redeem himself through his mission, we can offer him a life of prosperity. What do you think he would choose?â
âYour Highness, youâre right. However, itâs difficult to tell what he is thinking. What if Julius refuses the opportunity and insists on going down the wrong path? What should we do?â Eloise asked.
âIf thatâs the case, Julius is just seeking for death,â Rufus replied indifferently.
âI donât care if Julius dies or not. But Austinâ¦â Eloise was hesitant to continue.
âDonât overthink. Theyâre no longer kids. They long have the ability to handle things by themselves. Exterminating Dragon Guard can be considered a test for them this time.
âIf they can successfully complete it, I can entrust West Lucozia to them with confidence.â Rufus smiled.
His two sons were not ordinary individuals. Although they were young, they were way more capable than him when he was their age. They would surely become outstanding figures with some training.
âDonât look so solemn. Iâve already called Albert over. If anything happens, he will make sure theyâre safe,â Rufus consoled.
âSo youâve already prepared in advance.
âEloise let out a sigh of relief.
âTheyâre my sons. Thereâs no way I wouldnât be concerned about them. However, I hope they can take on more responsibility.
âThatâs why Albert wouldnât help them unless itâs a life-and-death situation. Itâs all up to them whether they succeed,â Rufus said.
âWhat a good strategy. It seems like Iâve been worrying too much.â Eloise nodded. Eloise didnât care if they could exterminate Dragon Guard. She only wished for her sonâs safety. That was all she hoped for.
In a villagerâs house located at Bronx Mountain Range, Dustin sat and closed his eyes. He was patiently waiting for the outcome of the investigation.
After a long time, the door suddenly swung open.
Austin and the top grade spy rushed inside.
After Austin came inside, he sat down and took out a map. Then, he started to explain. âOur spies did a comprehensive research along this region. Finally, we discovered something unusual in a quite dangerous location. Here!â
Austin pointed to the middle of the map with his index finger. Then, he continued, âThis is a massive valley with entrances at both ends.
âThe entrance at the front is in our territory, while the back entrance is at the border of our enemy nation. This valley spans two countries.
âOf course, this isnât the main point. The most important part is that our spies found a tall and thick wall at the entrance of the valley.
âThere were also many firearms on top of it. Itâs similar to a fortress in times of war from it looks. If Iâm not mistaken, this should be the secret base of Dragon Guard.
âHowever, due to the number of Dragon Guard spies around it, our spies didnât dare to get close. They hurried back to report to us after confirming its location.â
After hearing that, Dustin nodded.â Good job. We finally found where their base is.â
âAlthough we found where their base is, its location makes it easy for them to defend and hard for us to attack. Itâs going to be challenging to capture all of them.
âMost importantly, we donât know what itâs like behind the wall. How many troops does Dragon Guard have? If we recklessly attack, we might face heavy losses!â Austin explained seriously.
