Chapter 1878 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
Dustin left the Dragon Guard base immediately after talking to Julius for a while. It wasnât a place that he should stick around.
He only took the risk to verify some information. It was a good thing that he entered and left quietly.
However, after Dustin had left for a while, Julius picked up the phone on the table and called the control room. Five minutes later, Reagan walked into the villa with a few of his trusted subordinates.
âGrand General Rhys, I heard that you wanted to see me urgently,â Reagan spoke first.
âSir Judd, someone from the West Lucozian monarchy just snuck into your secret base,â Julius said frankly.
âOh, is that so?â Reagan was a little surprised as he looked around and said, âGrand General Rhys, are you sure?â
âOf course, he was just standing in front of me.â Julius looked serious.
âWho is it then? Why did this person come to see you?â Reagan pursued the matter further.
âThat person was the Crown Prince of West Lucozia, Dustin Rhys!â Julius answered honestly and continued, âHe snuck in to rope me in his plan to annihilate you.â
âDustin Rhys?â Reagan nodded. âIf it were him, itâd be only normal if no one realized that he was here.â
As the tenth-best fighter on the Astonishing World List, itâd be hard for others to detect him if he didnât want people to notice him. Even for Reagan, Dustin would have to be within a hundred yards radius of him for Reagan to detect his presence.
âSir Judd, Dustin doesnât know that I have joined forces with the Dragon Guard. As such, he was discussing his plans with me.â
Julius flashed a creepy smile and said, â I lied to him. I told him that you were leaving the base tomorrow and would be going to West Lucozia.
âI asked him to form a team so he could ambush you halfway. Who knew he actually believed what I said! He said that weâd be working together to attack and kill you.â
âLooks like Iâve become the thorn in the flesh for the West Lucozian monarchy. They canât wait to get rid of me.â Reagan burst out laughing.
âSir Judd, why donât we use this opportunity to kill Dustin Rhys? We can definitely use his plan against him,â Julius said creepily.
âNow that Rufus Rhys already has one foot in the grave, he doesnât have much time left. Dustin Rhys will be the heir to the throne of West Lucozia.
âIf we kill Dustin, thereâd be no heir left. When that time comes, itâd be much easier for us to take over West Lucozia!â
âThatâs right!â Reaganâs eyes lit up. â Dustin Rhys was born with special abilities, and his potential is endless. Heâs a serious threat to our future. If we can eliminate him, itâd solve a huge worry for us!â
âMy thoughts exactly!â Julius smiled.
âGrand General Rhys, very good. You have made a great contribution this time.â Reagan nodded with a smile.
âTo be honest, I actually doubted your loyalty before this. You have just proven your immense loyalty to me.
âAs such, Iâve decided to officially appoint you to be the elder of the Dragon Guard. From now on, youâll enjoy only the best benefits of the Dragon Guard!â
âThank you, Sir Judd!â Julius was overjoyed.
âGrand General Rhys, youâll have full command of the operation tomorrow. You can use anyone in the Dragon Guard.
âI only ask of you is that you must kill Dustin Rhys at all cost!â A killer intent flashed across Reaganâs eyes.
âDonât worry, Sir Judd! Iâll make sure that we accomplish our mission!â Julius spoke with confidence.
âGood! I want Rufus Rhys to be heirless by tomorrow!â Reagan laughed loudly.
In Oakvale, he had sent Cinna Shaffer to kill Dustin. He had no idea that someone else would save Dustin. Now that he was given this opportunity, heâd do anything to make sure that Dustin had no escape.
The next morning, Dustin, Austin and a team of good fighters hid themselves on both sides of a deserted route at the edge of the Bronx Mountain Range.
It was a narrow and dangerous place.
Mountain peaks flanked two sides of the road. In the middle of the mountain range was an unpaved dirt road. Rocks piled up on both sides of the unpaved dirt road. It was the best place for an ambush.
âDustin, can we really trust Uncle Julius? Will Reagan Judd really come this way?â Austin looked around suspiciously. This dirt road was overgrown with wild plants, and it was obvious that not many had passed here.
âI have put a curse on Julius Rhys. If he wants to live, he wonât betray us. If not, heâll die before us.â Dustin replied.
âI still find him quite unreliable.â Austin remained doubtful.
âDonât worry. I have already sent out informers around this area. Weâd be the first to know if thereâs any movement.â Dustin comforted him.
âThatâs good.â Austin nodded.
âOh, and the thing I asked you to do⦠How is it?â Dustin asked suddenly.
âIâve already sent out the letter. The person you invited is on their way here. âAustin replied.
âThis person is part of my later plans.
If our ambush is successful today, we can ride on its wave and annihilate the Dragon Guard all at once!â Dustin said with narrowed eyes.
âFuck! We can finally get our revenge after such a long time!â Austin licked his lips, and a killer glint flashed across his eyes. The Dragon Guard had long been the West Lucozian monarchyâs thorn in the flesh.
It didnât matter if it was the revolution in Aylka a decade ago or the assassination attempt on his father a few days ago; the Dragon Guard was behind everything.
Now that they finally had a chance to destroy the Dragon Guard, he was ready for action.
It must be made known that they had gathered almost all of the good fighters from the castle. They even took a few of the elite fighters from the Black Dragon Army to form a team. As long as Reagan was surrounded, heâd never be able to escape.
âYour Highness, the informer had just informed us that someone is coming in from the east three miles away.â
When everyone was waiting in silence, one of his trusted subordinates suddenly rushed next to Dustin and spoke to him in a low voice.
âInform everyone to keep their cover and donât make any sudden movement, âDustin replied quietly as well.
âYes, understood!â The subordinate answered and informed everyone on the team of Dustinâs orders immediately.
Every member of the ambush team hid themselves, and some even held their breaths. After a long while, a procession of horses was visible at the entrance to the dirt road. It was a group from the Dragon Guard!
