Chapter 1972 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âHow dare you! Who do you think you are to speak like this?â Jackson couldnât help but feel furious seeing Sophia getting threatened.
Initially, Jackson wanted to solve it calmly and avoid unnecessary conflicts.
However, he didnât expect the members of Fantasy Sea Alliance to be so arrogant. The latter had disregarded Emberson Steel and attempted to forcefully seize Harmony Sectâs treasure.
They were simply going too far!
âYou-â Just as the Fantasy Sea Allianceâs member was about to speak, the middle-aged man raised his hand to stop him. âEveryone, treasures are worldly things. Itâs nothing compared to your own life. I doubt you guys wouldnât understand this, right?â
âSo what if we do understand?â Jackson narrowed his eyes.
The middle-aged man replied indifferently, âSince you understand, you should hand over the treasure. You lose some, but you win some.
âWeâll immediately leave once we get the treasure, and we wonât make things difficult for you guys. How about it?â
At that, Sophia glared at him and shouted, âIn your dreams! Even if I die, I wonât give the treasure to despicable scoundrels like you!â
Upon hearing that, the middle-aged manâs expression turned gloomy. The group of Fantasy Sea Alliance members immediately shot daggers at her.
âElder Lucius, why are we wasting time with them? We should just kill all of them!â
âThatâs right. Weâre more in numbers. Thereâs no way we would be scared of nobodies like them!â
âItâs not the first time we killed people to get the goods. Thereâs nothing much to worry about!â
The members of Fantasy Sea Alliance shouted one after another.
In their eyes, Jackson and Sophia were just sheep waiting to be slaughtered.
They could still spare the duo if they hand over the treasure. However, Jackson and his team were doomed if they refused their terms.
âElder Lucius, I donât think you should be scared of Emberson Steelâs influence. Although they are powerful, they are fewer in numbers. We donât need to be scared of them at all.
âIf we can get rid of all of them without leaving a trace, nobody will suspect that we did it,â a member of Fantasy Sea Alliance whispered. Upon hearing that, the middle-aged man raised his eyebrows. It was obvious he was tempted.
The reason why the middle-aged man didnât make a move was because of Emberson Steelâs influence.
However, upon second thought, nobody would know what they had done. They were in the middle of nowhere, after all.
Thus, there was nothing to be worried about if they just got rid of everyone.
With that in mind, the middle-aged man puffed out his chest. His gaze turned icy. âIâll give you one more chance to give up the treasure. I can still spare your life.
âOtherwise, youâll need to bear the consequences!â
âLetâs see if you can actually snatch our treasure!â Sophia was not scared at all.
Sophia unsheathed her dual blades, gesturing for them to attack.
The dual blades were called Harmony Saber, with one shorter than the other. This was a unique weapon of the Harmony Sect.
The two blades shone brilliantly, dazzling in the light.
âYou donât know whatâs good for you. Kill all of them! Donât miss out on a single one!â the middle-aged man shouted with a gloomy expression.
âYes, sir!â After getting his order, several Fantasy Sea Alliance members charged toward them.
They were unfazed for having to kill someone to get the treasures, after all, they were in a deserted area.
âSophia, Iâll take care of them!â Seeing the members of Fantasy Sea Alliance making a move, Jackson immediately charged toward them himself.
Jackson was someone who wouldnât sit by and watch a stranger getting bullied, not to mention his fiancée was the target.
âKill them!â The Emberson Steelâs disciples followed closely behind them. They faced their enemies fearlessly.
âSophia, letâs go and support them!â
Just as the few Harmony Sectâs disciples were about to attack, Sophia stopped them. âWait! We used up all our energy just now and even got injured. Letâs not drag them behind. Instead, we should just leave.â
âWhat? Leave?â The few Harmony Sectâs disciples were stunned to hear that.
The Emberson Steelâs members were fighting because of them. Thus, it would be ungrateful for them to leave right now.
âSophia, Mr. Hawk stood up for us. Isnât it inappropriate for us to leave just like that?â A female disciple from Harmony Sect furrowed her eyebrows.
âWhatâs wrong with that? Weâre not in our best state right now. If we join in the fight, weâre just going to die. Thus, we should just take this chance to retreat.
âLetâs preserve our strength and wait for another time to take revenge,â Sophia said matter-of-factly.
âSophia, Emberson Steel has a good relationship with Harmony Sect. Now that Mr. Hawk is in danger, how could we just leave?â The female disciple couldnât bear it.
If Jackson hadnât helped them just now, they would have been wiped out by Fantasy Sea Alliance.
Now, Jackson was protecting them and facing the enemy all by himself.
If the members of the Harmony Sect just sat by and watched, it would make them no different from those petty people.
âIâll remember his kindness. However, I need to consider the entire situation.
âNot only would we not be much help, we might even die if we go and help them. The best choice we have is to escape!â Sophia replied seriously.
âAs long as weâre alive, there will be many opportunities. Thus, Iâll definitely avenge Jackson once we get through this and bring the treasure back to the sect!â
âTake revenge?â The expressions of the few Harmony Sect seemed off.
There was no use in taking revenge if Jackson was already dead.
âSophia, but heâs your fiancé!â The female disciple furrowed her eyebrows.
Sophiaâs expression was indifferent as she replied lowly, âSo what? I already said I prioritize the overall situation. We should retreat right now.
âDonât blame me for leaving you behind if you refuse to listen to me!â Finishing her sentence, Sophia turned around and left without hesitation.
After glancing back to see Jackson fighting with all his might, the few Harmony Sectâs disciples gritted their teeth and left.
âSophia, you guys should leave now! Iâll hold them off for youâ¦â Jackson was still worried about Sophia and the otherâs safety amid the fierce battle.
However, Jackson turned around and found that there was nobody behind him.
