Chapter 1975 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
Screams filled the place.
The leader was the only one skillful enough to block all the arrows. Meanwhile, the other members of the Fantasy Sea Alliance were lying in a pool of blood.
âFuck! How dare you kill my members! Just wait for it. Iâll be back!â After the leader yelled this, he quickly ran away.
âJackson, donât let him get away!â Sophia immediately shouted.
âYou bastard! Letâs see how youâre going to escape.â Without even thinking about it, Jackson ran after him with his sword.
Then, they engaged in a fight.
The leader of Fantasy Sea Alliance was indeed capable. However, he still could not be compared to a gifted martial artist like Jackson.
After the duo exchanged several moves, Jackson knocked him to the ground, risking his arm getting slashed in the process.
Then, Jackson pressed the long knife against his neck, causing him unable to move.
âPlease! Please donât kill me I know I was wrong! I have a wife and a newborn child. Please spare my life. I promise to turn over a new leaf!â The leader pleaded desperately.
âYou know about the consequences, so why do this in the first place?â Jacksonâs expression was indifferent.
âItâs not like I have a choice in the martial arts world! I was also forced into this situation. If you let me go, I can give you all the treasures Iâve acquired!â the leader begged sadly.
âYou-â Just as Jackson was about to say something, a flash from a blade could be seen. A long knife had suddenly pierced into the leaderâs chest.
The person who made the move was Sophia!
âJackson, why are you talking so much nonsense? You should just kill shameless people like him!â Sophia had an indifferent expression.
Sophia seemed dissatisfied as she delivered several more blows to him. She finally stopped after the man became motionless.
Jackson furrowed his eyebrows, but he didnât say anything else. The members of Fantasy Sea Alliance deserved to die from the atrocities they had committed.
âJackson, thank you. I would have been in danger if you didnât make a move just now.â Sophia tucked away her knife and shot a grateful smile to Jackson.
They couldnât deny that Sophia was beautiful and had a graceful demeanor. With just a simple smile, the unpleasant feelings Jackson felt before had dissipated.
âItâs nothing. Just a small effort from my side.â Jackson smiled.
âMs. Jaden, Jackson risked his life to save you. How about you? You escaped without informing us! Do you think what you did was right?â an Emberson Steelâs disciple questioned angrily.
Although the others didnât say anything, their expressions were grim.
Obviously, all of them felt dissatisfied by how ungrateful Sophia was.
âDonât misunderstand. I only retreated just now as I knew I was exhausted and could be no help to you all. I would just be a burden if I stayed there.
âIt was a difficult decision for me, but I had to leave to not distract you all. Rest assured. I donât have any ulterior motives behind my actions,â Sophia replied righteously.
âAre you saying that we should thank you?â the disciple from Emberson Steel mocked.
âYouâre being too serious. Emberson Steel always has a good relationship with Harmony Sect. Itâs only natural for us to aid each other.
âIf I had done anything wrong, please forgive me.â Sophia clasped her hands together earnestly, looking pitiful.
âYou-â Just as the disciple was about to speak, Jackson interrupted him by raising his hand. âAlright! Whatâs done is done. As long as Sophia is safe, thatâs all that matters.â
âThank you for your understanding!â Sophia nodded, seemingly extremely grateful.
However, a subtle smile flashed by the moment she lowered her head.
