Chapter 1986 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
The sudden emergence of numerous forces disrupted Yonahâs plans completely.
âItâs getting more lively.â Aidan raised an eyebrow and finally leaped down from the tree. It seemed like he couldnât stay aloof any longer.
âJackson, itâs getting chaotic here. Letâs hold back for now and let them battle it out.
âWeâll capitalize on the situation once they engage in their deadly struggles,â Sophia whispered as she huddled next to Jackson.
Given her current predicament, a direct confrontation with these forces would lead her nowhere. Unwilling to give up, she could only hope for the right opportunity to gain some of the treasures.
âI understand. Stand behind me later. Iâll make sure to protect you!â Jackson promised.
The combined forces of the Embersteel Order and Harmony Sect were merely a few people, making them relatively weak. Engaging the stronger forces head-on was clearly unwise at the moment.
âBrothers! Thereâs treasure here! Letâs go grab it!â Suddenly, someone shouted, breaking the tense standoff.
Two forces simultaneously sprang into action, leaping into the lakebed and charging towards the palace from both sides.
It was clear that they aimed to seize the opportunity and be the first to claim the treasure.
With more individuals than treasures available, being slow meant leaving empty-handed. Naturally, those lacking patience found it hard to stand back.
âDamn it! We canât let them get ahead. Charge forward!â With the first two forces taking the lead, the entire situation plunged into chaos.
Successive waves of forces surged forward, making a beeline for the palace entrance.
No one knew the extent of the treasure within, so everyone was determined to grab whatever they could. Staying idle meant risking getting nothing in the end.
âYonah! Whatâs the plan? If those guys make off with a substantial amount of treasure, all our previous efforts will be for nothing!â Bran clenched his fists, his impatience palpable. While hoping for an effortless reward, the current circumstances appeared dire.
With hundreds, or even thousands, of people rushing into the palace, if they all seized the treasures and fled, what would they do?
âFuck! Weâre not waiting any longer! Seize the treasures!â After a brief moment of hesitation, Yonah could no longer resist and led the disciples of the Drakes Dominion Order forward.
âFrostwing Sect, follow me!â Bran closely trailed behind, afraid of falling behind.
âMs. Linsor, itâs time we make a move as well. Otherwise, itâll be too late,â Garrett urged, anxious about Graceâs inaction.
If all the treasures were taken, their efforts would have been in vain.
âThereâs no rush. Weâll let them fight among themselves first,â Grace responded calmly, unperturbed.
It was crucial to remain calm. The more anxious they were, the more likely things would go wrong.
âMs. Linsor, I understand that youâre trying to take advantage of whatâs happening, but itâs too chaotic. If we donât act soon, we might just end up with nothing.â Garett urged.
âBe patient. I know what Iâm doing.â Grace remained unfazed.
Garett grew anxious at her reaction, but there was nothing he could do. The Black Scorpion Squad had only five members left.
Without the protection of Graceâs large army, they wouldnât be able to grab anything if they rushed into the fray recklessly. They would be placing themselves at a huge disadvantage instead.
âQuick! Stop them! Donât let them enter the palace!â
âDamn it! Iâll kill you for blocking my path to riches!â
âBrothers! To arms!â
As various forces converged upon the palace, clashes erupted, with each faction unwavering in their resolve.
Battle cries and wretched screams filled the air. For a moment, the ground was littered with bodies, and blood flowed like a river.
