Chapter 2003 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
Unlike the joyful ambiance surrounding her, Grace wore a somber expression. She furrowed her brow, and her eyes revealed disappointment.
When she discovered that the Celestial Eye had picked up on something, excitement surged through her. She thought the Dracan essence would probably be hidden in the underwater palace.
However, after an extensive search, both inside and outside the palace, all she uncovered were intricate jewels and precious metals. There was no sign of the Dracan essence.
Despite putting in so much time and effort, it ended up being a wild goose chase. Grace found this outcome unacceptable.
She turned to Dustin, her expression shifting as a realization dawned.â
Dustin, is the Celestial Eye detecting anything?â
He nodded in response. âYes, and itâs quite strong.â
âThese accompanying treasures, though valuable, donât appear to be extraordinary. What causes the Celestial Eye to react so strongly?â Grace asked.
She inspected the gold and silver treasures within the two bronze coffins multiple times.
Each item could provide a lifetime of comfort for an average person. However, in her perspective, these possessions seemed insufficient to elicit a strong response from the Celestial Eye.
Dustin glanced around, his confidence unwavering. âWhile these items alone might not scream extraordinary treasures, trust the Celestial Eye. It doesnât lie.â
He added, âI believe thereâs something special hidden in this tomb. Letâs search diligently and look for any clues.
âAlright, everyone, letâs comb through the tomb meticulously and watch out for any hidden traps or mechanisms,â Grace directed, gesturing with her hand.
The guards felt the allure of the treasures within the coffins, but they resisted the urge to give in to greed. Then, they began to conduct a meticulous search.
âMs. Linsor, Iâm curious. What exactly are you looking for?â Jackson asked out of the blue.
They had already uncovered a considerable amount of treasure since entering the palace. Yet, he couldnât help but notice Graceâs disinterest in the riches, making it quite strange. Thus, his curiosity grew about their true purpose.
âIâve mentioned it before. Feel free to take any gold, silver, or jewels you find. I only have my eyes on one or two specific items, and I canât reveal what they are,â Grace replied, shaking her head.
After all, the Dracan essence was crucial to the fate of the nation. It was not something she could casually disclose to others.
âGot it,â Jackson replied with an awkward smile. He understood that everyone had their secrets, and he didnât want to pry too much.
âMs. Linsor, if these treasures donât pique your interest, how about we split them evenly among the rest of us?â Sophia asked. Her eyes gleamed with enthusiasm.
She knew that bringing these treasures back to Harmony Sect could secure the sectâs finances for decades. It could also be her ticket to becoming the next sect leader.
Grace smiled and replied, âFeel free to take whatever you like. I wonât mind.â
âMs. Linsor, your generosity knows no bounds. In that case, we wonât hold back!â Sophia exclaimed.
She smiled appreciatively at Grace and immediately hurried toward the coffin to choose from its treasures. Her eyes quickly landed on a black diamond the size of a fist, a face-sized blue diamond, and several other rare valuables.
âQuick, everyone! Donât miss out on these treasures!â Garrett urged as he observed Sophia making her selections. He swiftly rallied members of the Black Scorpion Squad to compete with Sophia, knowing that the first person to grab a treasure would own it.
âHey, save some for the rest of us!â Jackson chimed in, unwilling to fall behind.
The Embersteel Order disciples also joined to search for their share of collectibles.
The treasures within the bronze coffin were evidently of superior quality compared to those outside, making them the top priority choices.
