Chapter 2153 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âTheyâre here!â Crystal said, and soon, black figures emerged around the tavern.
These figures were scattered in pairs or small groups. Some perched on rooftops, some lurked at street corners, others hid among the trees, and a few even stood on lampposts.
Their movements were as quiet and nimble as stealthy cats. At the same time, their precise positioning effectively sealed off all entrances and exits.
From an aerial perspective, they had inadvertently formed a large circle surrounding Dustin and the others.
After all, these black figures were skilled assassins who had promptly reacted to the distress signal.
In just two minutes after their arrival, they formed the encirclement. It showcased their exceptional training.
âDamn it! So many assassins showed up. Looks like weâre in for a tough fight tonight.â
Miles slowly drew his sword and vigilantly looked at the surrounding black figures. Over a dozen assassins were out in the open, and he suspected more were hiding in the shadows.
After all, these assassins were elites as each possessed extraordinary skills far superior to the martial artists present. If it came down to a brawl, Miles knew they might not be able to defeat them.
âItâs been a while since Iâve had a good fight. Iâm curious to see what these assassins are capable of,â Ruby said, drawing her sword. She was eager for action.
As someone new to the martial world, she hadnât encountered anything dangerous. Yet, instead of fear, she exuded a bold, almost naive confidence.
The prospect of life-or-death combat excited her more than anything else. After years of dedicated training, today was her chance to unleash her skills and prove herself.
âIâm not one to pick fights, but it seems like Iâve got no choice today,â Dalen said, swinging his folding fan downward. Then, a sharp blade sprang out from the tip of the fan.
âFools! Do you think outnumbering us gives you an advantage? Dream on!â the man in black said with a sneer.
He added, âLet me spell it out-weâre all top-tier elites, trained through hellish regimes. Dealing with the likes of you is childâs play!â
âCut the chatter.â Dalen frowned and tapped at the man in blackâs throat, silencing him. He had enough of the manâs nonsense.
Suddenly, an assassin spoke from atop the roof. âRelease my men, and I might spare your lives.â
The speaker was a tall man clad in black, wielding a giant sword. Embroidered on his chest was the image of a majestic lion. It added to his imposing presence.
He was the leader of The Fangs, an assassin group, and the formidable late -stage grandmaster known by the code name Predator.
âIs your entire organization here?â Dustin asked.
âHmph! Dealing with small fry like you doesnât require our entire organization, âPredator retorted icily.
âDoes that mean you have other plans? âDustin raised an eyebrow.
âKid! Donât play games with me. Iâll give you one last chance. Let our men go now or die!â Predator slowly raised his giant sword and pointed it squarely at Dustin with a lethal glare.
âYour men are right here. If you have the guts, come and save them yourself, âDustin said as he kicked the man in black to the ground and stepped on his chest.
âYouâre asking for it!â The Predatorâs eyes narrowed, and he roared, âKill them!â 6
âAttack!â
