Chapter 2167 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âThe offer from Sacred Wrym Summit sure is tempting.â Dustin nodded in agreement.
Then, he suddenly said, âBut Iâm more interested in the person in front of me, so Iâll have to apologize to you all.â
Everyone was shocked to hear this, finding it difficult to believe. They couldnât understand why Dustin would refuse such an opportunity.
They found it baffling. It was an opportunity that could change someoneâs fate. Opportunities like this didnât come knocking often, yet Dustin brushed it off like it was nothing.
They couldnât help but wonder if he had lost his mind.
âWhatâs wrong with you, Dustin? Why would you turn down such a golden opportunity?â Miles asked, bewildered.
If it were him, he would be jumping for joy. But Dustinâs refusal seemed to go against the natural order of things, leaving Miles scratching his head.
âIt seems Dustin thinks that the value of that assassin leader is higher than the favor from Sacred Wrym Summit,â Dalen remarked thoughtfully.
âWhat? What value could that assassin possibly have? Heâs just a villain,â Ruby dismissed.
âRuby, things arenât always as they seem. If that person truly had no value, would Sacred Wrym Summit had their eyes on him?â Crystal said cryptically.
Sacred Wrym Summit usually stayed out of worldly affairs, but their decision to capture Predator hinted at something out of the ordinary.
They suspected that Dustinâs relentless pursuit was fueled by his insight into the underlying reasons behind it.
âPal, youâre making it really difficult for me.â Caleb shrugged helplessly.
He figured a few smooth words would sway Dustin. Unexpectedly, Dustin was stubborn and had zero regard for the prestige of Sacred Wrym Summit.
Caleb couldnât help but find it both amusing and infuriating.
âSacred Wrym Summit has quite the reputation. Surely, it wouldnât bother with a nobody like me.â Dustin smiled, putting on a humble act.
Caleb replied, âI donât know about you, but dealing with the old man back home can be a hassle. If we donât bring this guy back today, Iâll never hear the end of it.â
He scratched his head, seeming to have an idea, then added, âHow about we make a bet? Whoever wins gets to take this guy away.
âThat way, we wonât damage our relationship, nor will we have to rack our brains. What do you say?â
âWhat are we betting on?â Dustin asked, amused.
âItâs simple. We bet whether you can move this guy,â Caleb said innocently. He went on, âHeâs currently pinned down by my Divine Talisman. If you can move him, you win. If not, you lose.
âOf course, I wonât make it too hard on you. You can ask for help, but you only get three chances. Are you game?â
âSince youâre so keen, Iâll play along,â Dustin agreed.
âAlright, itâs settled then. Go ahead.â Caleb gestured with one hand.
Behind him, two disciples of Sacred Wrym Summit exchanged knowing glances. They were well aware of the power of the Divine Talisman on Predatorâs back.
Dustin alone, much less everyone there, couldnât budge the Predator. Even the two disciples acknowledged that they were powerless against it.
âWhatâs this little monk up to? Just moving a person, whatâs the big deal? Why would he deliberately bet like this? Itâs like heâs conceding defeat?â Ruby wondered.
âYouâre mistaken, Ruby.â
Miles pointed at the yellow talisman on the Predatorâs back. âSee that yellow talisman? Thatâs the renowned Summit Shift Divine Talisman of Sacred Wrym Summit!â
âThe Summit Shift Divine Talisman? Is it really that powerful?â Ruby looked puzzled.
As someone new to the martial world, she certainly had some gaps in her knowledge.
âOf course, itâs powerful!â
