Chapter 2226 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âWhatâs your plan?â Grace arched her eyebrow.
âFirst, we need to find a way to dispel the witchcraft from Aliciaâs body. Then, weâll use her as bait to lure out the mastermind,â Dustin replied succinctly.
Once they pinned down the culprit, they wouldnât have to do anything more. The Celestial Alliance members would handle it. After all, Alloy wouldnât just let those who hurt his daughter off the hook.
âWhat do you need me to do?â Grace asked.
âI need you to gather some medicinal herbs for me as quickly as possible. I plan to use poison to counteract the dark energy and force it out of Aliciaâs body.â
Dustin quickly jotted down a prescription and handed it to her.
She glanced briefly and nodded. âNo problem, Iâll gather everything within three hours.â
With the power of Dragonmarsh royalty, she would have no trouble getting her hands on rare medicinal herbs.
After Dustin and Grace left the lakeside villa, they got busy with their respective tasks.
Just shortly after the two departed, a white-haired elder with a beard in a vintage suit entered the villa with two disciples. He exuded an air of elegance and wisdom.
âDr. Quake! Youâre finally here? Please, come in!â
Brian, standing at the door, greeted the white-haired elder with a big smile as he ushered him into the villa.
âMr. Stern, Iâm sorry for the delay. I had some unexpected matters to attend to. Thank you for your patience,â Kenan Quake, the white-haired elder, apologized for being late.
âItâs okay. Iâm just glad you could make it,â Brian said courteously.
Kenan was renowned as a miracle doctor in the martial world. He had close connections to the Celestial Alliance.
Moreover, he had healed countless influential figures with mysterious illnesses, which earned him the moniker âMaster Healerâ.
When dealing with such a skilled doctor, proper respect was a must, especially for martial artists who often faced injuries or health issues.
âMr. Stern, how is the patient?â Kenan asked.
âThe situation is looking grim. Aliciaâs still in a coma, and her condition is getting worse. Weâve tried everything, but no doctorâs been able to help,â
Brian replied. His tone was tinged with concern.
Brian seemed to recall something and abruptly changed the subject. âOh, by the way. A young doctor came by earlier and performed some sort of ethereal technique on Alicia.
âHe jabbed her with those âethereal- whateverâ needles and then left abruptly without explanation. Iâm not sure if it had any effect.â
âHow outrageous!â Kenan frowned.â The patientâs condition is critical. How can you allow unidentified doctors to diagnose and treat her recklessly?
âIf anything goes wrong, who will take responsibility? Hurry up and take me to her.â
âCome with me.â Brian quickly led Kenan and the others into Aliciaâs room.
âBrian, who are these people?â Aurora was curious as she looked at the three unfamiliar faces entering the room.
âAurora, this is the renowned Dr. Quake I mentioned earlier. And these two are his disciples,â Brian briefly introduced them.
âItâs an honor to meet you, Dr. Quake. Iâve heard of your great reputation,â Aurora greeted.
âLetâs skip the pleasantries and focus on the patient.â Kenan got straight to the point.
âDr. Quake, this is my sister, Alicia. She just got some acupuncture. Can you make sure itâs legit?â Aurora motioned toward Alicia as she spoke.
âHmm?â Kenan approached and studied Alicia closely. His frown deepened.
âWhere did you find this amateur? Allowing him to treat her without understanding the situation first? What if something goes wrong?â he asked.
âAn amateur?â Aurora blinked. She exchanged a glance with Brian and hastily asked, âDr. Quake, does that mean thereâs something wrong with his treatment?â
âOf course, thereâs a big issue here, and itâs serious,â Kenan said gravely.
âThe patient looks weak, pale, and blue -ish. She was obviously poisoned. In a case like this, the first step should be using a tonic to boost the bodyâs strength.
âThen, silver needles are used to draw out the toxins by stimulating specific pressure points. But whoever treated her did the opposite.
âHe didnât give the tonic but used silver needles to block the vital pressure points. This would trap the toxins inside the body. This isnât healing, and itâs harming the patient!â
At this revelation, Brianâs and Auroraâs expressions changed.
If Dustinâs incompetence were the problem, itâd be one thing. However, if he was deliberately causing harm, that changed everything.
âHmph! I knew that guy was up to no good. Heâs downright evil!â Brian gritted his teeth. His expression clouded with anger.
âDr. Quake, are you sure these silver needles arenât for healing but for harming?â Aurora asked again.
âIâve been practicing medicine for many years; I wouldnât make a mistake, âKenan replied solemnly.
âEither the person administering the needles is an amateur who knows nothing, or theyâre intentionally causing harm. Either way, these silver needles have no benefit for treating illness.â
With that, Kenan stepped forward and prepared to remove the needles.
âWait!â Aurora quickly raised her hand to stop him. âDr. Quake, that person said these silver needles are meant to prolong my sisterâs life. If theyâre removed, she might not live for more than three hours!â
âProlong her life? Hah! What a joke!â Kenan sneered.
He added, âToxins are accumulating in the patientâs body, and theyâre unable to be expelled. And now he is using silver needles to seal the vital pressure points?
âIs he trying to hasten the patientâs death? If we follow his logic and leave the silver needles in place for three hours, the patient will undoubtedly die!
