Chapter 2521
An Understated Dominance
Austinâs expression also turned serious as he saw the doubt in Dustinâs eyes. He knew Dustin wouldnât worry over nothing.
There were many strange beings in Streuqua, including vampires, werewolves, and the like. These supernatural species were notoriously hard to kill. Even after being decapitated, they werenât necessarily dead.
Austin wasnât sure if Poseidon had that kind of ability. After all, the Hall of Gods and its so-called royal gods were still a mystery to most people in West Lucozia.
To play it safe, they needed to recover Poisedonâs head for their own peace of mind.
Out on the water, Jaxon led a team of soldiers and ship crews to comb the sea in search of Poisedonâs severed head.
At the docks, all eyes turned to Warrick, Mulder, and the others. They had been tied up and were now being dragged before Dustin and Austin one by one.
Warrick looked pale, but there was a certain defiance in his eyes. He knew his fate was sealed. After Dustin killed Poseidon, Warrick knew his last hope of survival had vanished.
Mulder, on the other hand, looked terrified. His eyes were filled with desperation-he wanted to survive.
âWarrick,â Austin said coldly, âyouâre a Major General of West Lucozia. Yet, youâve slaughtered innocents, colluded with foreign enemies, and betrayed your own people. Did you really think you could get away with it?â
âVictory or defeat, thatâs the nature of war, âWarrick replied. âIf youâre going to kill me, just do it. Iâve spent my life on the battlefield, and Iâve never feared death.â
He snorted and raised his chin defiantly, ready to face death without fear.
âDonât worry. Iâll execute you.â Austin sneered. âBut not now. Because I plan to make an example out of your death.â
He intended to use Warrickâs death to send a message, to strike fear into the rest of West Lucoziaâs officials.
âAs for the rest of youâ¦â Austin turned his gaze toward Mulder and the others.
âYour Highness, please spare me!â Mulder cried.
He dropped to his knees with a loud thud and begged, âWarrick forced me into this. I made a terrible mistake, but I beg you, Your Highness. Please show mercy and spare my life.â
Before Austin could respond, Axel, who was standing beside Mulder, smacked him. It was a brutal backhand that sent him toppling over.
âYou treacherous bastard!â Axel roared. â How dare you beg for mercy? His Highness treated you well, and you became a spy for the Hall of Gods? Scum like you deserves worse than death.â
âAxel, please. I made a terrible mistake, but I was forced into this. Please speak to His Highness for me for Alaniaâs sake and ask him to show me mercy,â Mulder pleaded.
Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth, yet he still kept begging for mercy.
âDonât you dare bring up my sister!â Axel exploded and kicked Mulder to the ground.
He drew his sword and said, âYouâve betrayed His Highness and West Lucozia. For that, you deserve to die. No one can save you now. Today, I will clean up this mess for His Highness.â
Without hesitation, he brought his sword down and severed Mulderâs head.
Mulderâs body convulsed. His head hit the ground with eyes still open, like he couldnât believe it ended this way.
After slaying Mulder, Axel finally vented his anger. He dropped the bloodied sword and kneeled before Austin to apologize.
âYour Highness, itâs my fault for not doing a good job in managing my family affairs, which led to Mulder betraying us. Please punish me as you see fit.â
âYou will be punished,â Austin said indifferently. âBut I need capable men right now, so Iâll give you a chance to redeem yourself.â
He added, âIâm giving you three days to root out every last one of Warrickâs accomplices. If you fail, Iâll deal with your past mistakes and this one.â
âThank you, Your Highness, for your mercy,â Axel said.
Since Austin trusted him, Axel vowed not to disappoint him again.
Meanwhile, Jaxon and his men spent an entire night searching the seas. But despite their efforts, Poseidonâs head was nowhere to be found.
Austin didnât wait around. He left half the troops to continue the search while he returned with Poisedonâs body.
The sea was vast, full of unpredictable currents, and home to countless marine creatures. Searching the seabed for a single head would be no easy task.
Even if Austin stayed there, there was nothing he could do.
Inside a majestic grand hall at Artea, the members of the Hall of Gods had gathered. The news of Poseidonâs defeat struck like a blow, and everyone in the room was stunned and enraged.
âI canât believe Poseidon is so incompetent. He couldnât even handle one simple task and nearly lost his life. What a disgrace to the Hall of Gods,â Zeus growled, frowning.
âA kid defeated him, and his body was mangled. He escaped with nothing but the tiniest fragment of his soul. What a disgrace to the title of royal god,â Hera said.
She crossed her arms, and her gaze was full of contempt. An icy chill radiated from her as if it could freeze the air around her.
Just then, the Supreme Leader, Satan, slowly rose from his throne. His towering figure exuded a commanding presence and was shrouded in a mysterious dark energy.
His cold gaze swept across the hall, and his voice was low but firm. âLogan has too much potential. If we give him a few more years to grow, heâll become a major threat to us.â 1
âMy Lord, leave him to me. Iâll make sure he doesnât walk away in one piece,â Hera said confidently.
âMy Lord, let me do it. I want him to taste the wrath of thunder,â Zeus said coldly.
Satan pondered for a moment, then gave a decisive command. âJust in case, both of you will go to Dragonmarsh. Eliminate him at all cost.â
Zeus and Hera exchanged glances before nodding in unison.
âYes, My Lord.â
