Chapter 281 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
The moment Adjutant General Damon saw General Jenkins, without uttering a single word, he delivered him a resounding slap.
General Jenkins was left dazed, taking quite some time to recover from the impact. Heâd welcomed Adjutant. General Damon with a smile, but the man fucking responded with a slap instead. That was crossing the line!
âAdjutant General Damon, what is the meaning of this?!â General Jenkinsâ face darkened, his gaze turning hostile. Even if he was Christopherâs adjutant general, it didnât mean he had a free pass to humiliate him. After all, Chief General Spanner was backing him. In terms of rank, he held an even higher position than Christopher!
âGeneral Jenkins, that slap was a lesson for you,â Adjutant General Damon said with a cool expression. âYou should not have captured Mr. Rhys. Release him now, or youâll have to bear the consequences!â
âAre you threatening me?â General Jenkins snorted. âDamon, youâre nothing but an old generalâs dog. What right do you have to order me around?!â
âIndeed, I cannot, but the general can. If you donât want trouble, do as I say,â Adjutant General Damon said expressionlessly.
âHmph, donât use the generalâs name to scare me!â General Jenkins said furiously. âThe person I captured has committed a heinous crime, and the evidence is beyond any reasonable doubt. You canât just ask for him to be released!â
If Adjutant General Damon had spoken in a kinder manner, perhaps he might have released Dustin out of respect for Christopher. But heâd fucking come up to him and slap him. No one would be alright with that.
*General Jenkins, donât say I didnât warn you. If you choose to remain obstinate, then no one can save you!â Adjutant General Damon warned.
âYou think Iâm scared?â General Jenkins said, glaring at him. âTo tell you the truth, I am Chief General
Spannerâs subordinate. If you want to lay a hand on him, youâd have to ask for his permission!â
âIt seems like you really wonât release him?â Adjutant General Damon frowned.
âNo! Even if God asked, I wouldnât release him!â General Jenkins bellowed.
âFine! I hope you wonât regret it!â Without another word, he got into his car and left, leaving General Jenkins to choke on the exhaust.
âDamn it, that dog! How dare he act all high and mighty in front of me?â General Jenkins spat on the floor. lifting his hand to caress his stinging cheek.
Fuck, he was really unlucky today!
First, Bloodbeast had slapped him, and now Adjutant General Damon. Not to mention, it was all under strange circumstances.
âWhatâs the matter?â Jade walked over.
âDonât ask. A crazy dog from the Murray family came to ask me to release Dustin,â General Jenkins said annoyedly.
âNo way. Could that punk have ties to the Murray family?â Jade frowned.
âWho fucking cares? The Grant family is also one of the Tremendous Three, just like the Murray family. Why should we be afraid of them?â General Jenkins said, irritated.
âYou have a point.â Jade nodded. As the two were speaking, an armed motorcade suddenly appeared on the far end of the road.
The Murray family flags decorated the motorcade. Dozens of military trucks were filled with people, blazing their way over. Soon after, they completely blocked off the entire entrance of the base. As the cars came to a stop, over three hundred armed soldiers hopped off. Their gazes were all fixed on General Jenkins.
Tension was palpable in the air, as it war was going to break out at any moment.
âDamon, what do you think youâre doing?!â When General Jenkins saw Adjutant General Damon in the lead, he almost blew his top. âHow dare you bring so many people to crash my base? Are you trying to start a rebellion?
âI am merely carrying out my generalâs order to obtain your hostage. If you wonât give him to me, then I can only grab him from you,â Adjutant General Damon said indifferently.
âThe audacity!â General Jenkins yelled, his eyes furious. âI am the subordinate of Chief General Spanner. Is the Murray family declaring war against him?!â
âIâm merely following orders. Anything else doesnât concern me,â Adjutant General Damon said without beating around the bush.
âIt seems like thereâs no more room for negotiation today, is there? Fine! If thatâs the case, then letâs see who has bigger numbers!â General Jenkins roared at the top of his lungs.
In the next second, a large wave of soldiers surged out of the base.
