Chapter 306 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
The old man patted the dust off his body in a poised manner.
âThat was a wonderful fight!â The young girl excitedly clapped after Ralph won. She turned to Dustin and Maximus. âSee? Isnât my grandpa amazing?â
âAbby, did you see my palm strikes just now? Those are our guildâs signature moves. Youâll amaze the world when you finally learn it,â Ralph said loudly.
âIâll work hard to meet your expectations, Grandpa Abby nodded fervently.
âOh, and they are?â Ralph turned his attention to Dustin and Maximus.
âTheyâre passersby who were being nosy, but I stopped them in time. With their abilities, theyâll only be a bother,â Abby explained.
âI see.â Ralph gave them a look over. âTreacherous bandits and ferocious beasts always roam this mountain. You two shouldnât run around carelessly.
âThanks for the advice. Weâll make a move since youâre safe.â Dustin thanked them and spun around to leave.
âHold on!â Abby suddenly called out. âYouâre here to watch the fight between Tatum and, er, Dustin, right?â
âYes. Are you guys here for that too?â Dustin asked
âOf course!â Abby lifted her head proudly. âTo tell you the truth, Boulderthorn invited many witnesses for todayâs duel. My grandpaâs one of them!â
âWitnesses?â Dustin was amused. âIs that really necessary?â
âOf course it is!â Abby rolled her eyes. âI can tell that youâre clueless. Well, any fight between famous martial artists always needs witnesses to ensure the competitionâs fairness.â
âI see.â Dustin nodded. It was true that he had no idea about deathmatch rules.
âBoth of you young men seem like fine people with strong bodies. Iâll give you a chance to become Steel Legion disciples,â Ralph suddenly said.
âDisciples?â Dustin was caught off guard.
âYou two should thank your lucky stars. Being my grandpaâs disciple is a dream many people have. What are you waiting for? Hurry up and thank him!â Abby ordered arrogantly.
âSorry, but no thanks,â Dustin refused, shaking his head.
âWhat?â Abby immediately turned angry. âHey, you should be grateful that Grandpaâs willing to take you in.â
âYoung man, you wonât come across this opportunity twice. You should think about it carefully!â Ralph stood proudly with his hands behind his back. âItâs an honor to be my disciple. All I have to do is teach you a few moves, and youâll become famous.â
Dustin couldnât help but find their confidence amusing. To think that someone who hasnât reached divinity yet was trying to take him in as a disciple. Had the requirements for becoming
mentors fallen so low?
âThank you for your offer, but Iâm not interested.â Dustin shook his head once more.
âInsolent fool!â Abby humphed before turning to Maximus. âWhat about you?â
âIâm not interested either.â He shrugged.
âYouâll regret your decision one day!â Abby fumed.
Her grandfather, the leader of Steel Legion, a well-known martial expert, was gracious enough to offer to take them in, yet they foolishly refused.
