Chapter 333 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âSome things are better discussed in person.â Dahlia shook her head.
âFine. Iâll give you three minutes. Break it off cleanly.â Without another word, Florence went to stand by one side. After all, tomorrow, their family would move to Stonia and live the life of the wealthy. By then, a lowlife like Dustin would never have the chance to see her daughter again.
âDidnât you say weâd never have anything to do with each other? Why are you here?â Dahlia looked Dustin straight in the eye.
Dustin responded seriously, âIâve found out the truth. I know Luis forced you into this, but you donât need to get married to him. I can solve all your problems!â
Dahlia was momentarily stumped before she put up a polite smile. âI donât know where you heard that, but Iâm getting married to Luis on my own accord. I wasnât forced, but thank you for your concern.â
So what if he knew? It wouldnât solve anything. Her marriage to Luis was a strategic union between the Langfords and the Nicholsons. Anyone who dared stand in the way of their marriage would be going up against two majorly influential families. How many people dared make enemies out of the two families in the whole of Balerno? That was why, even if Dustin now knew the truth, it didnât change anything. It would only cause him more trouble.
âThatâs not true!â Dustinâs brows knitted. âYou donât even like him. Why are you getting married to him?â
âDoes that matter? Luis can give me wealth and riches, as well as power and status, arenât those enough?â Dahlia smiled faintly.
âYouâre lying! I know youâre not that kind of person Dustin wouldnât give up.
âStop joking. Do you really know me?â She scoffed,
âOh, Dustin. People should live life realistically, especially women. Instead of working so hard to make a name for myself, wouldnât it be better to marry a wealthy man? I can live an easy life. Why not seize the opportunity?â
Dustinâs gaze was intense. âNo! You donât mean thatâ
âThatâs what I think. It doesnât matter whether or not you believe me. Iâm tired. Iâm going to rest now. Please go back.â That was the last thing Dahlia said before turning inside.
âDid you hear that? Sheâs tired. Now get lost!â Florence raised her broom aggressively.
âDahlia Nicholson! Donât you dare think you actually helped me. Iâll never be grateful for your actions!â
Dustin stood by the door and continued with rightful indignation, âOh, and one more thing. I hate being indebted to someone. I will do everything I can to stop this marriage. I will never let you marry Luis! Do you hear me?â
âBastard! If you try anything, I wonât hesitate to beat you to death!â Florence was anxious and raised the broom in her hand, about to land a hit, when Dustin grabbed it and broke it easily,
âDahlia Nicholson! Iâll be at the engagement party tomorrow afternoon. All you need to do is nod, and Iâll take you out of there. You donât need to think about the consequences. Just follow your heart. I will make sure there is nothing to worry about. I will also ensure your safety! Please just trust me. Have absolute faith in me this one time!â Dustin finally left after his speech.
Since he had found out the truth, he would not allow her to walk into her own misery. It didnât matter if they were the Langfords or the Nicholsons. If they angered him, he would annihilate them all!
As Dahlia listened to Dustinâs determined speech, she leaned against the door and sank to the floor. She ended up crouching on the ground as tears streamed down her face. Biting her lips, she wrapped herself in her arms and tried her best to muffle her cries.
âOh, Dustin. Why are you so foolish? Couldnât you just let go? Why do you need to put yourself in danger like that?â
