Chapter 402 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âHey, how can you be so stubborn?â Dustinâs oneâtrack mind made Ruth blow her top. âMy sister didnât tell you for your own sake. Otherwise, youâd always be at risk of a fatal disaster!â
âHmph, Iâve been through rain and fire for years. Is there anything I havenât encountered before? I stand by my wordsâif you donât say it, Iâll go ask myself!â Dustin said resolutely.
âYouâ Ruth stamped her feet in fury, but she didnât know how to rebut. After a moment, she shook her head helplessly. âIt seems like my sister was right: you wonât give it a rest. I really donât know if this is a blessing or a curse. Didnât you say you want to go to Millsburg to see my sister? Fine. I can take you there, but you have to listen to me. You canât act rashly! Or else my sister and I will also get dragged down with you. Got it?â
âAlright!â Dustin agreed. Right now, he only wanted to see for himself that Natasha was fine.
âTidy up. Iâll wait for you in the car,â Ruth said, then went straight to the car,
At that moment, Maximus, whoâd heard the commotion, walked over. âDustin, youâre going out?â
âYeah, Iâm going to Millsburg to get something done. Iâll probably be there for about five days. Please help take
care of the home in the meantime.â Dustin patted his shoulder.
âNo problem! If thereâs anything, just ring me anytime!â Maximus patted his chest.
âOkay.â Dustin nodded. He picked up his bags, turned around, and got into the car.
With Maximusâwhoâd already achieved divinityâaround, things should be fine in Swinton.
The car moved out quickly, making its way to Millsburg. After half a day, the car finally came to a stop in an urban village in the evening. They arrived at a small villa with a garden.
The door opened, and Ruth and Dustin alighted.
âMs. Ruth, youâve arrived.â At that moment, a kindâlooking middleâaged man walked out of the villa.
âMr. Robinson, this is Dustin Rhys. Over the next few days, you are in charge of his meals and
accommodations,â Ruth said in lieu of an introduction.
âHello, Mr. Rhys.â Mr. Robinson bowed respectfully.
âRuth, what kind of place did you bring me to?â Dustin was taken aback.
âThis is the temporary lodging I arranged for you. Mr. Robinson used to work for the Harmon family and can be trusted. If you need anything, just let him know,â Ruth explained.
âIâm not talking about that. Whereâs your sister?â Dustin pressed.
âMy sister canât meet you yet. Just stay here for a few days, and when the time is right, Iâll arrange for you two
to meet,â Ruth replied.
âThen you have to at least tell me what happened.â Dustin frowned.
âWater wonât boil if you watch it. The situation right now is unfavorable. Knowing too much wonât do you an good, either. If you trust my sister, then wait a couple of days.â Ruth looked serious.
âBut Dustin started, but Ruth interrupted him.
âBefore we came, we already agreed that you would listen to me. Otherwise, please go home!â
âFine, Iâll wait!â Dustin took a deep breath. In the end, he chose to give in. After all, he was already in Millsburg.
If trouble really arose, he could lend his support anytime.
âGreat. Just wait here, and Iâll contact you in case of anything.â
With that, Ruth got in the car and left. Sheâd snuck out, so she couldnât stay for long.
âMr. Rhys, please have some tea.â Mr. Robinson handed him a cup.
âThank you.â
