Chapter 404 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âSomething happened? What happened?â Edmund was stunned, unable to react. âMy daughter just called to tell me that Abigail got into a conflict at the karaoke bar, and both sides fight! You should hurry over and check on her!â the neighbor urged
got into a âWhat? A fight?!â Edmund was startled. He immediately threw down his cutlery and ran to the door, but then, he turned around suddenly and said, âMr. Rhys, I truly apologize, but something happened to my daughter, and I need to go handle it.â
âIâll go with you.â Dustin stood. It wasnât good to just mooch off someone in their house. If he could lend a hand in any way, he naturally wouldnât be stingy.
âWellâ¦â Edmund was a bit conflicted.
âDonât worry. I wonât make things worse.â Dustin smiled.
âEdmund, donât dawdle any longer. More people means more power. Hurry!â the neighbor prompted again.
âAlright ââ Edmund nodded. Without another word, he got in his Mazda and drove off. He couldnât care about
anything else right now. His daughterâs safety was the most important.
Twenty minutes later, he stopped in front of the karaoke bar.
Dustin followed Edmund inside. He found a few burly men standing outside a particular room. Among them, the leader was a young man dressed in a Versace suit. His face was flushed, and he reeked of alcohol. He yelled and kicked the door. Meanwhile, Abigail and a few other female students were hiding in the room, not daring to come out.
âFuck, it should be an honor that I touched your butt. How dare you hit me? Iâm going to teach you a lesson today!â
After a series of hard kicks, the door suddenly fell with a resounding bang.
The girls inside the room instantly screamed in terror, except Abigail, who stood in front, unyielding. With stubborn eyes, she said, âHold right there! Iâm warning you not to do something rash. Iâve already asked for backup. Once my friends come, thereâll be a good show!â
âBackup?â the man in the suit chuckled coldly. âTo tell you the truth, this is my territory. It doesnât matter who you call over. Iâm going to fuck you tonight!â
With that, he reached out to grab her.
âStop!â At that moment, Edmund suddenly ran over and stood in front of his daughter protectively. âYoung man, letâs use our words, not our hands.â
âWhat are you doing here?â Abigail frowned, not the least bit grateful.
âOld geezer, where did you come from?â The man in the suit looked him up and down with an unkind gaze.
âYoung man, this is my daughter. Sheâs young and doesnât know better. If sheâs offended you in some way, Iâll apologize on her behalf,â Edmund said with an apologetic smile, bowing profusely.

âThat bitch slapped me and broke my watch. Do you think an apology can fix this?â The man sniffed.
Right then, a girl with short hair beside Abigail suddenly said, âYouâre the one who behaved obscenely first! If you didnât grope her, you wouldnât have gotten slapped!â
âShe should thank her lucky stars that I touched her. Donât be fucking shameless!â The man glared.
Edmundâs face froze. In the end, he still forced a smile and said, âYoung man, I think this is just a misunderstanding. Thereâs no need to make this bigger than it is. Why donât we all take a step back, okay?â
âDonât think itâs over just because you said so!â The man slapped Edmund harshly, cursing. âWho the fuck are you? Are you even worthy of negotiating with me?â
Edmund staggered backward from the blow, almost falling.
