Chapter 407 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
Mike turned his attention to Dustin, who was standing next to Mr. Robinson. He couldnât help feeling threatened by Dustinâs calm demeanor and good looks.
âThis is Mr. Rhys, our familyâs honored guest. He came over to help out.â Mr. Robinson explained.
âHelp out?â Abigail humphed disdainfully. âHe hasnât said a single thing since he arrived. You call that helping out?â
âSheâs right! Although he has good looks, itâs embarrassing how much of a scaredyâcat he is.â The short- haired girl shook her head.
While none of the other girls spoke, it was clear that they were all secretly looking down on Dustin. What was the point of being so handsome if he was going to run at the first sign of trouble? He was nothing but an utterly unreliable man.
âA man should act like one, buddy. You shouldnât try to break up a fight if youâre scared, or you might get hurt.â Mike sniggered and patted Dustinâs shoulder.
Dustin smiled without saying anything, unbothered by those measly words.
âWell, since everythingâs over, letâs go back.â Mr. Robinson smoothed things over before turning his attention. to his daughter. âAbigail, Iâve told you many times not to run around at night, especially in places like these. Itâs dangerous! Hurry up. Weâre going home now.â He grabbed her wrist.
âLet me go!â Abigail flung his hand away, annoyed. âYou can go back alone! What I do is none of your business!
âWhat are you doing? Iâm just worried about you.â Mr. Robinson frowned.
âWorried about me? Whatâs the point?â Abigail snorted. âEven if I run into trouble, what can you do? It was their fault, yet you kept apologizing! You might not feel embarrassed, but I do!â
âIâm just locking out for you. Your safety comes first. And there was no need to make things worse,â Mr. Robinson reasoned.
âDoes that mean Iâm supposed to put up with everything?â Abigail was disappointed. âYou always get treated like this. Do you know why I hate you? Because youâre a coward! Iâm begging you. Donât ever show up in front of my friends ever again. Having a father like you is the biggest embarrassment of my life!â
Mr. Robinson froze. He opened his mouth, but nothing came out. He didnât know what to say. All he wanted was for his daughter to be safe and sound.
âWhat are you waiting for? Bri
at the door,
âAbigail-â
your guest and leave! I donât want to see you guys anymore!â Abigail pointed
âGo away!â Abigail fumed, ashamed. Why was her father a mere servant who constantly had to be careful around others, while other peopleâs fathers were successful and famous?
1/2
âYou guys should head back first, Uncle Robinson. Donât worry. Abigail will be fine. Iâll protect her,â Mike said with a smile. It was rare to see a father being chewed out by their daughters like this.
âThank you.â Mr. Robinson forced out a smile and turned to leave.
Just then, they heard some noise coming from the entrance of the karaoke bar, and the man in a suit who had just left came barging in violently with a few dozen men.
âThere! Gather them up!â the suited man yelled.
The fierce men drew out their blades and surrounded the room, their vicious gazes frightening those inside. As students, how could they ever win against knives?
âWait!â Mike stomped forward. âIâm warning you. This place belongs to Lord Horst, who is a friend of my dad. Youâre dead meat if you touch us!â
âAre you fucking threatening me right now?â With a mighty slap, the man sent Mike tumbling to the floor. âSo what? Iâm his fucking brother!!â
His words immediately caused an uproar.
