Chapter 416 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
Dustin was rendered speechless. What else was he supposed to think when a girl willingly approached him at night?
Too lazy to argue, Dustin merely asked, âWhat do you need?â âJudging from todayâs battle, you seem like a good fighter. How did you do that?â Abigail asked.
âEver heard of Elderâ level martial artists? Iâm one of them, so I can easily handle over three hundred opponents. *Dustin answered nonchalantly.
âYeah, right. I doubt it.â Abigail clearly didnât believe him.
âWhatever. You probably canât comprehend what Iâm telling you anyway. All you need to know is that Iâm very powerful.â Dustin summarised. Most ordinary citizens didnât know about martial artists, so even if they met one, they wouldnât be able to tell.
âFine. Can you teach me some moves? Iâm not asking for much. I just want to be able to defeat a dozen men.â Abigail looked at Dustin with hopeful eyes.
âYou want me to take you in as my disciple?â Dustin raised an eyebrow.
âUgh, youâre so oldâfashioned. Who does that these days? Just teach me a few moves as a friend,â Abigail responded.
âI guess thatâs fine. But to learn my moves, you have to have a solid foundation, or itâll be useless. This means that youâll have to start by building your internal energy.â Dustin told her.
âWhatâs internal energy?â Abigail stared at him dumbly.
âYou can understand it as mana.â
âOh, I get it. Itâs what allows those people to become human anvils and all.â Abigail realized.
âUm⦠I guess so.â Dustinâs smile faltered before he continued. âIt takes talent for someone to cultivate mana. After all, effort pales in comparison to actual talent. Those who are meant to become martial artists will easily understand this, while those who arenât wonât see the results no matter how hard they work.â
âI see. Then do I have that talent?â Abigail asked eagerly.
âGive me your hand.â
âOkay.â
âIâll pass some of my true energy to you. If you can feel it, that means youâve got the potential to become a martial artist; if you donât, then youâre just not cut out for it.â Dustin explained, holding her wrist and channeling some of his energy into her.
âHuh? I can feel It! Itâs warm and tingly!â Abigail lit up.
âNot bad. You passed the first level.â Dustin nodded. Before he could say anything else, his brows furrowed as he realized the energy he had just channeled into her had miraculously disappeared. It was as if something

had swallowed his energy completely.
âHow is this possible?â
Puzzled, Dustin channeled another burst of energy into Abigail, which was quickly absorbed again. However, he had felt it this time. There was a seal inside her body, and the seal was so strong that his true energy
wasnât enough to affect it.
Fortunately, it was a protective seal that was harmless to Abigailâs body and would only come into effect when she was in danger. Thinking that the energy he channeled earlier was a threat, the seal automatically
absorbed it.
The seal had been done by someone who was either a Grandmaster martial artist or stronger and an expert in seal making. In other words, Abigail was under the protection of someone powerful.
âWhatâs wrong? Is there a problem?â Abigail asked after seeing Dustinâs reaction.
âItâs nothing.â Dustin smiled. âIâll pass you the training technique, but your success depends on you.â He wrote down the training techniques for beginners and passed the paper to Abigail. âStudy it back in your room. Find
me again once youâve mastered your internal energy.â
âOkay!â Abigail took the paper and ran back to her room excitedly.
âInteresting.â Dustin smirked, staring at Abigailâs retreating figure.
The seal in her body was extremely rare, and only close family members would waste so much time and effort
to do something like that.
Dustin instantly became more interested in Abigailâs mother.
