Chapter 510 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
Right after that, they heard a click as the door to the managerâs office flung open. Then, Cole ran out in a great hurry and almost stumbled over.
âWhoâs Dustin Rhys? Is there a Mr. Rhys here?â He searched high and low with an anxious look. âThatâs me.â Dustin took a few steps forward.
âMr. Rhys, Iâm so sorry for not recognizing you just now. I didnât properly greet and receive you and your guests. Please forgive me.â Cole jogged up, his previous arrogance wiped off as he bowed deeply at Dustin.
His respectful demeanor came as a surprise for Julie and Dahlia. A while ago, Cole was acting all righteous and refused to show Terrence leniency. Why did he suddenly grovel at Dustin? They were left scratching their heads at the reason behind his abrupt change.
âMr. Suzman, that wasnât necessary. Letâs talk business.â Dustin went straight to the point.
âRight, rightCole nodded furiously and plastered a smile on his face. âLadies and gentlemen, this way. please.â
âLadies first.â Beaming, Dustin led a confusedâlooking Dahlia into the managerâs office. Cole immediately served tea and ordered his secretary to print out the contract. He was extremely attentive, as he was told they were VIP guests of Mr. Brooks. Ten minutes later, they had a deal following a smooth discussion.
When Dahlia wandered out of the office with the signed contract in her hand, she felt like she was deep in a daze. Never in her wildest dreams had she expected the deal to proceed this smoothly. Without unnecessary exchanges, the staff from Brooks Corporation merely asked for her signature on that 500 million deal. In fact, it was so ridiculous that she would question the veracity of the process if she had not witnessed it.
âDustin, how did you pull that off?â Dahlia glanced at the hero of the day with a bewildered expression.
âI told you I am acquainted with Roderick Brooks, and heâd probably do me a favor,â Dustin was cool about it.
âAâand how did you get to know him?â Julle blurted out. It was unbelievable that Dustin would be acquainted with Roderick Brooks.
âI treated his illness, which I mentioned to you yesterday, but you didnât believe me.â He shrugged.
âYou treated him? Thatâs some dumb luck!â Julie shot him a funny look.
âThatâs why you shouldnât look down on people.â Dustin casually reminded her.
âWhatâs so great about that?â Julie rolled her eyes in disdain. âYou treated Big Bucks Brooksâ illness thanks to some dumb luck! Sure, he repaid your help by doing you a favor, but it wonât be easy to ask him for help the second time!â
Roderick Brooks had returned the favor to Dustin, and common sense dictated that it wouldnât be appropriate to keep asking for favors after that. Dustin might have played the hero on that day, but that might not happen again the next time.
âNo matter what, we have to thank Dustin for his help today.â A smile lightened Dahliaâs face. âTell me your wish, and Iâll try my best to fulfill it.â
âMy wish?â That suggestion caught him off guard. âI havenât thought of any. Iâll let you know when something pops up.â
âSure. I owe you one.â She chuckled.
While they were chatting. Dustinâs phone started ringing. When he picked up, he heard Natashaâs voice from the other end. âDustin! This is bad! Our familyâs in trouble!â
