Chapter 512 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âDad, did you do anything else than drink?â Natasha pressed on.
âWhat do you mean?â He was puzzled by her questions.
âDad, think carefully! You canât make a mistake here!â She was dead serious.
âI think I blacked out from drinking. I canât remember a thing. What happened?â Hector frowned softly. Natasha finally dropped the bomb. âDad, Sir Moranâs daughter was dead!â
âSheâs dead?â He was stunned by the news. âHow did that happen?â
âWe donât have the details yet, but rumors had it that you were the murderer!â Natasha informed him.
âDid they say I was the murderer?â He was completely lost. Eyes bulging, he shook his head vehemently.
âNo, thatâs impossible! No matter how drunk I am, I would not kill someone!â He might be a lightweight, but he was a wellâbehaved drunk. Normally, heâd be dead asleep after he was drunk and never made a scene.
âI donât believe them either, but witnesses claimed they saw you murder her. Sir Moranâs forces are at our door, and they will force their way in at any time! Think carefully! Did you do it or not?â Natasha growled. The regional deputy chief was the thirdâinâcommand in Millsburg, and he had the power to ruin the Harmons with
a command.
âIâI really canât recall a thing, but I believe that I would never do that.â Hector furrowed his brows.
âGosh, Hector, whatâs that good for? Sir Moran doesnât believe that!â Trent shook his head slowly.
âYeah, Trent, how could you black out from drinking at someoneâs birthday event? You do not have selfâcontrol at all!â Jacob seemed disappointed and furious at his sibling. The family had enough on their plate, and the new accusation added insult to injury.
âUncle Hector, turn yourself in if you were the culprit. Donât drag your family into it.â At that moment, a slender and alluring beauty emerged from the crowd. She was Trentâs eldest daughter, Kate. Trent had a son and daughter, but after Quentinâs death, Kate immediately came to her fatherâs side from Stonia.
*Kate Harmon, stop spewing nonsense! My dad is not a murderer!â Ruth glared at her cousin.
âBetter not get ahead of yourself. Itâs not uncommon for drunk people to commit crimes accidentally. If Uncle Hector is innocent, why would Sir Moran send his men to arrest him?â Kate remarked as if stating the obvious.
Ruth was dumbfounded, âYou-â
The accusation might be hard to believe, but there was always a dreadful possibility that it might be true. The problem was that Hector could not recall any memories from that night.
âCould someone have pinned the murder on him?â Dustin blurted out.
Natasha, deep in her thoughts, said, âThe possibility has crossed my mind, but I donât have evidence for now. We need a detailed investigation,â It was too much of a coincidence for the murder to happen at that point. She had reason to suspect foul play.
Chapter 512
âI heard that Sir Moranâs daughter was murdered after being sexually assaulted. Uncle Hector, did you get
horny after you were drunk and took advantage of her?â Kate dropped another odd speculation.
âBullshit! My dad is not a rapist!â Ruth instantly jumped up and down with anger. Natasha and Jessica, though
quiet, both frowned at the allegation, Kate was an impertinent young lady.
âKate, stop that nonsense!â Trent berated his daughter. âYour Uncle Hector is a good man. Heâll never do
anything like that. Someone must have framed him!â
âYouâll never know what a manâs like behind the back. Who knows?â Kateâs reply was loaded.
âThatâs enough! Are you going to add to the mess that this family is already in?â Natasha finally chastised
Kate.
Kate merely sneered. âYou shouldnât be yelling at me. Start worrying about cleaning up your dadâs mess.â
âYouâ Natasha was on the verge of an outburst when Jack ran in with urgency. âMs. Harmon, things are bad!
The soldiers out there have barged in!â
